The Jack Smith testimony is being treated like a partisan political circus. Not because Smith's efforts were partisan in motivation, mind you. I mean we don't say that a criminal defense attorney is an accessory to a crime, simply for doing their job. But people seem to think Smith was treating Trump and his sycophants in Congress unfairly by simply doing his job. When Smith got the toll records of members of Congress, people went bananas. But what was he supposed to do? Not get that information? It's vital to building his case! And it's not as if he got the content of private calls/texts. It was just the time/date. What is the point of having laws if we're okay with someone potentially breaking them, so long as they're on the right team? Just apply the simple "if it weren't Trump" test. If it were Barack Obama, and Democrats, being investigated for their alleged role in a plot to overturn an election, I can safely say that 99% of the people attacking Jack Smith now, would be cheering him on. Sad state of affairs for this country.
