Many thanks to you Jenn. You (and all those that make this happen) are AWESOME.
For five days, three times a year, for nine years, all I think about is turkeys 😂🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃. I dream about turkeys. I make lists about turkeys. I make phone calls about turkeys. I send messages about turkeys. I have conference calls about turkeys. I post pictures of turkeys. I wait for turkeys to arrive at warehouses. I arranged transportation for turkeys. I wait for confirmation that turkeys have arrived at homes and food banks and shelters. I collect email addresses for turkey gift card distribution. I checked that turkey emails have not gone into spam. I collect last-minute panicked messages about needing turkeys. But thousands of people every year get to celebrate their holidays so it's all worth it 💙💙💙🦃🦃🦃

Re: MAiD for solely mental illness. Specifically I support track 1 terminal and foreseeable death with proper documentation of it being death by assisted dying on death certificate, and better medical process, but track 2 and solely mental illness however is akin to eugenics and social murder while the most vulnerable face homelessness, vilfiied addictions, mdisabioity and senior poverty, WSIB denials, jobless rates and insufficient social assistance. #MAiD is a nuanced balance that took me 5 years to understand. Here is a link to my interviews and documentary appearances in regards to MAiD or assisted dying in Canada. linktr.ee/odspoor Also here is my fact sheet to help with any misconceptions people might have. It's from the latest issue of my coedited newspaper The Disability Bulletin linktr.ee/thedisabilitybulle… #cdnpoli #assisteddying
My latest interview is part of a comprehensive overlook at Dying With Dignity and the coercion of #MAiD in the @thewalrus: 'Meanwhile, Dying with Dignity Canada has responded to questions from disabled advocates with statements that are “very pro-MAID while dismissing the negative effects,” says Mitchell Tremblay, a disability advocate and host of The #Pwdcast. (He also appears in the Fault Lines documentary.) He says he talks to people every day who feel coerced into applying for MAID because it has become one of the only ways to escape poverty, homelessness, bad treatment from landlords, and the feeling that the government doesn’t care about them. “We want safeguards, proper mental health, addiction, and housing support,” says Tremblay. “So that MAID isn’t the better option for so many.”' Link to article: thewalrus.ca/dying-with-dign… #PWDrising #OW #PWD #ODSP #DERB #AISH #said #MAiD #cdnpoli #disability #neurodiverse #Neurodivergent #odspoverty #PWDallies #humanrights #un_enable #canpoli #follow #retweet #ontario #canada #disabilitytwitter #ableism #poverty #homelessness #hunger #canadiandisabilitybenefit

Im finally on my way home, towed cars, couch sleep and super late Go transit, i can feel home, my shell, my treehouse, my roof. Things the people i fight for dont have and cant represent. I miss my home with the trauma of knowing it can go again for an 8th time, and that would kill me. Sorry not sorry for 80s hair. #odsp #onpoli #cdnpoli

"#OSAP delay sends #Ontario college students home on 1st day of school | CBC News On the first day of orientation on Monday, students using OSAP were kept in class while those paying their own tuition were taken on a tour, Tilley said. "They let us know that they weren’t sure when or if our OSAP was going to come in and they haven’t received much information," she said. Students who could not pay were unable to begin their programs. "So there’s about a dozen of us who left," Tilley said. "And none of us are sure when we can return [or] if we can return." In an email sent late Friday, Marca College confirmed that "OSAP program approvals for the 2026–2027 academic year are currently awaiting renewal by the #provincial government." share.google/HPGyHnsBtjOSDbx…

Please help if you can. #odsp #mutalaidcanada #onpoli
I woke up, paid my rent, 1/3 of the wifi bill, this subscription and my #odsp is essentially gone. Less than 280$ left for the month, not $10 a day for food, mutual aid throttled, sinking deeper, starting off worse. If you can, please e-transfer a donation to [email protected] I need about 200$ for travel, grocery and supplies to reach end of month. #ontario #onpoli

Here’s what we know: people with disabilities/disabled people are not receiving the type of support the CRPD and human rights demand. Everyone’s fighting for the same piece of pie. What we need is one pie that everyone can draw from by way of an insurance model of support #NDIP

"The number of people on Ontario Works (#OW) and the Ontario Disability Support Program (#ODSP) who are also experiencing homelessness has shot up 72 percent since 2019, according to a new report from human rights organization #Maytree. In its newest policy brief released this week, the organization — which describes itself as “committed to advancing systemic solutions to poverty and strengthening civic communities” — says that more than 30,000 people using these programs don’t have stable housing. Those figures, based on provincial government data obtained through a freedom of information request, measure from July of 2019 to July of 2025." cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/o…
