social media & centralized blockchains have secret clauses that let them change the rules as needed to stay in control
on Hive, the rules ARE the protocol
witnesses are elected in public
rule changes only happen when run by a supermajority and backed by voters
we're what it looks like when there's no CEO to wake up on a whim and rig the game

Reddit is ending RSS in November: stuff built on their API has until March to find somewhere else. They've cited scraping as the catalyst.
Public discussion satisfies the itch for learning, marketplaces, and community building. Our take?
Go ahead and scratch, fam. Scrape away.

I remember when people called this the @hiveblocks killer and how it was gonna give content creators there millions of usd
well, only one of those has actually done that and is still alive and well even though it's not reflected on price, it won't be shutting down the chain.

Algorithms and access shape things you see, who you talk to, what you can read, and where you can speak. The brains of the world are being rewritten in real time by social feedback loops and forced compliance.

This Wednesday we're back with another Zypto X Space and a topic that affects every creator, every builder and every user online 🎙️
⚡ Arbitrary Rule Changes: Why Do Platforms Keep Changing the Rules?
You build your audience, learn the system, play by the rules. Then overnight everything changes. Monetization thresholds shift, algorithms flip, content gets buried. Centralized platforms hold all the power and you hold none. This Wednesday we talk about why this keeps happening and what the real alternative looks like.

POSH exists, but the X API really changed how things on this particular platform have been for Hive users used to full freedom and ownership of content and access 🙄

Back to the tl because people irl frequently ask why I take such "huge risks" on crypto since I'm so clearly not a tech bro, because they see I love people, music, art, beauty and life.
It's actually really not hard to explain- despite the culture wars training us into two camps who each sneer at the over or underuse of tech by the other-
I want humans to thrive.
I want communities to be empowered with the tools to support each other and create network effects. I want everyone to be able to make a living, create savings and a legacy, afford to eat, and to feel comfortable enough to explore, create and take advantage of opportunities that will allow them to continue to make the world better for even more humans.
Money is broken. Banks are broken.
If you were to spend too much time looking at the doomscroll, humans seem broken.
YOU are not broken.
It's not a mistake that I ended up in trustless, permissionless, voluntary FOSS tech circles, or that I gave up secure and cushy corporate salaries for the sometimes terrifying uncertainty of DAOs and non-stable alternative currencies.
It's also not because I hate anything; it's the way that I want to love and value my own life and express that love to others. We can build something different, and better, for the people and the music and the art and beauty and life. It's going to have a lot of pitfalls, and an exceptionally high period of suck and discomfort. (It already does, especially when people make snap decisions hearing that I left the "real" world and now work solely for crypto and advocate for equitable, verifiable, open-sourced disruptive freedom tech. The reactions are often akin to telling someone I have leprosy.)
I don't want you to immediately light every centralized institution in your life on fire RIGHT NOW. I don't want you to live in fear or feel like you're being torn between two "I'm fucked forever" paths that both feel wrong to you. But I want to you to slowly and surely remind yourself that human history is full of evolution, and that upheaval in the way things feel like they have to be is the key component of getting to the next plateau on the way to where they should be.
Take heart. Learn more. Hold to your values alongside protecting your value.
green days ahead 🖤
We talk a lot about value: Hive exists to help you create, share, earn, and own it. Value encompasses more than just money, but honestly
money matters
Banks hold your balance while "reviewing" you.
$HIVE moves only when YOU sign; $HBD is the convertible on chain dollar-unit balance.
Both are owned and controlled by keys you hold, never by having to beg at a permissioned teller window.

What blockchain hidden under functional ecosystems actually looks like:
your name, your keys
your posts, followers, keys, funds, assets and data.
Everywhere reading the same graph so you can move seamlessly between apps without ever asking permission.

I think I need to take a break here soon, been running on fumes for a long time now but it's getting to a point where I'm starting to dislike most things and people which I think is my mind telling me I need to let go for a while.
I know Hive will be okay so I can rest easy.
My AI coding has made me roughly $20 in subscriptions so far from around 10 different users.
I think most others who've created things have made 0.
Just thought I'd drop a reality check on people watching ads on here daily.
I'm not aiming for $ however, love what I've been doing with scrobble.life so far and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks to Hive I can also state that people using it have made over $3000 so far posting content.
It's something you won't find anywhere else.
I was hoping human ads were a bit further out in this dystopian future
I'm selling my body.
On September 19th, I'm competing in my first HYROX race in Turkey.
You can advertise your startup on 10 of my muscles:
- Your website is listed on hyrox.marclou.com
- Your logo will be tattooed on my body on race day
- I'll share it on my YouTube and X accounts
Bidding starts at $1,000.
Each takeover doubles the price: $1,000 → $2,000 → $4,000.
If outbid, you’re refunded minus the Stripe fee.
Bidding closes on Thursday the 10th at midnight UTC (in 2 days), so I have enough time to print the winning tattoos.

if I was doxxed on @hiveblocks I wouldn't be able to downvote users/content as I see fit and beneficial for the ecosystem as some people go crazy when it comes to rewards.
There's so many reasons not to dox yourself online and let your actions/history/reputation do the talking rather than who you are as a person/religion/race/resident in

Remember when everyone and their grandma's hated nfts/ownership cause it was cool and easy to take the side of majority just cause scams were rampant?
Can't say some didn't try to warn you of its importance.
