Why is it that the food you have to pay for on the plane is even worse than the food that used to be free?

You’d think, if we now have to pay for it, why not make it good and just charge more?

Seemed like it was off to a good start, then it went a bit off the rails…

Somehow only now discovered that Bill Clinton, George Bush and Donald Trump were all born within 12 weeks of each other in the summer of '46. (Joe Biden is older than all of them — autumn of '42.)

17/ I heard interesting new theory by ID expert Monica Gandhi @UCSF: wearing masks may not only prevent disease, but – if wearer does get infected – it may be with a lower viral dose and thus cause milder disease. Some support for this from studies in mice & hamsters (below)…

This music has been with me for 60 years. It's seen me through times of stress, loss, joy, and transition. It's connected me to others all over the world and helped me to understand life in new ways. Bach: Prelude to Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major #songsofcomfort

Random thought/question: has the WHO considered making a pre-set list (a la hurricane names) of new disease names so they can avoid the naming issues they’ve struggled with naming things? New thing crops up, take the next name off the list

Or maybe make a disease name generating bot that tosses out random combinations of vowels and consonants that are generally pronounceable in the world’s top 10 or so languages and then checked against known words across as many languages as you can get dictionaries for?

I’ll add that I’ve learned from playing Spelling Bee that there are plenty of respectable letter combinations that look like words but could be pressed into service as disease names... unclaimed lexical real estate. Examples from today: Ortaby, Yotar, Tabarody and Darbatory
