CORPS MEMBER’S AI PROJECT EMPOWERS STUDENTS, EARNS EXCELLENCE RECOGNITION #NYSCAdamawaState #personalproject #yolasouth #viralpost A Corps Member named Fauziya Abdulganiyu Tejimola, who is currently serving in Yola South LGA, has made a significant difference in the lives of students through a one-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) sensitization program she organized on September 24, 2026, as part of her personal CDS project. This initiative gave students hands-on experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Duolingo, Photomath, and Quizlet. It also educated them on the responsible use of AI, ethical learning practices, emerging career paths, and practical strategies to leverage technology for both personal and academic growth. Facilitators expanded the students' horizons by discussing opportunities in fields like AI Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Content Creation. A live demonstration by Nelson from the Global AI Community showcased how to effectively utilize AI tools and tackle challenges such as AI hallucinations. The students were enthusiastic and grateful for the program, describing the sessions as both insightful and practical. They shared that the training not only deepened their understanding of AI but also introduced them to valuable learning tools and motivated them to consider new, technology-driven career opportunities. Fauziya's project significantly boosted the students' digital literacy and awareness of how to use AI responsibly and productively, earning her a Certificate of Excellence from the school management. This recognition highlights her initiative, dedication, and outstanding commitment to creating impactful learning experiences for her students.

NYSC KADUNA HOLDS PRE-CAMP GENERAL MEETING AS OUTGOING STATE COORDINATOR HANDS OVER TO INCOMING STATE COORDINATOR The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Kaduna State Secretariat, has held a pre-camp general meeting. In her opening remarks, Mrs. Dadaza welcomed and introduced the incoming State Coordinator to the NYSC Kaduna State Staff and urged members of staff to extend the same cooperation and support they accorded her during her tenure to her successor. While giving his remark, the newly appointed State Coordinator, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, also solicited the maximum cooperation and support of staff, stressing the importance of teamwork in achieving the objectives of the Scheme. He assured staff of his commitment to working with them as a team. The outgoing state coordinator appreciated members of staff for their support and cooperation throughout her tenure. She encouraged them to sustain the spirit of teamwork and extend the same support to the new state coordinator. The Assistant Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Opeyemi Akanbi Kolawole presented the resolutions of the 2026 Batch C Stream I Pre-Orientation Workshop. During his presentation, he encouraged members of staff to work as a team and remain committed to their responsibilities. Also, Mr. Murtala Gimi delivered a sensitisation session on food safety. He highlighted the importance of proper food handling, preparation, and preservation, noting that food poisoning and contamination could pose serious health risks. Staff members were educated on appropriate methods of preserving and preparing food to ensure safe consumption both within and outside the orientation camp. The Assistant Director, Human Resources Management, Mr. Paul Adukwu conducted basic training on work ethics, where staff members were sensitised on the importance of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty. The Camp Director-designate, Mr. Samaila Haruna, in his remarks, solicited the cooperation and support of staff towards ensuring a successful orientation exercise. In his closing remarks, the incoming State Coordinator, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, reiterated his call for maximum cooperation from all members of staff, stressing that teamwork and collective responsibility were essential to the successful implementation of the Scheme. A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of gifts to retired members of staff in appreciation of their years of service and contributions to the NYSC. The meeting concluded with a renewed call for cooperation, teamwork, and commitment among members of staff towards a successful orientation exercise.

Show love at first sight - SC Benue The state coordinator NYSC Benue,Mrs Veronica Garba has called on the heads of collaborative agencies and committees to show massive love to prospective corps members upon their entry to the orientation camp. The coordinator mentioned this during an interface with the members on Friday 25th September ahead of the 2026 Batch C Stream 1 orientation. In her remarks,she urged members to be loving, empathetic and work in synergy with one another. Highlights of the meeting were reports from the camp Director,Mr James sumput Pupshit,Camp Commandant,Capt Gidado,and other members. In a related development,the state coordinator also interacted with other members of staff from the field as well as the secretariat all in readiness for the commencement of the orientation coming up on Wednesday 30th September,2026 She challenged all to be disciplined and take care of their health and wellness. She added that security is everyone's business and should not be left for security personnel alone

NYSC Kaduna Welcomes New State Coordinator The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Kaduna State, has officially welcomed its new State Coordinator, Mr. Abubakar Bawa, following a brief handing-over ceremony held at the State Secretariat on 25th September, 2026. The ceremony marked the formal transfer of leadership from the outgoing State Coordinator, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, to Mr. Abubakar Bawa. The event also provided an opportunity for the formal introduction of the new State Coordinator to members of the State Management Team. In her remarks, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza warmly welcomed her successor and expressed appreciation to the management and staff for the cooperation and support she enjoyed during her tenure. She appealed to them to extend the same level of commitment and support to the new State Coordinator to ensure the continued growth and success of the Scheme in the State. Responding, Mr. Abubakar Bawa thanked the outgoing State Coordinator for her warm reception and valuable service to the Scheme. He expressed his commitment to fostering teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect among staff, while working collectively to achieve the objectives of the NYSC in Kaduna State. Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Assistant Director, Mr. Paul Adikwu, commended Mrs. Dadaza for her dedicated service and exemplary leadership. He further assured the new State Coordinator of the staff's unwavering loyalty, cooperation, and support towards the successful discharge of his responsibilities. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.

*SOKOTO STATE COORDINATOR CHARGES COLLABORATING AGENCIES ON COMMITMENT DURING BATCH C ORIENTATION COURSE* The NYSC Sokoto State Coordinator, Mr. Tyoyer Gabriel, has charged heads of collaborating agencies and officers attached to the 2026 Batch C Stream I Orientation Course to remain committed and dedicated to their responsibilities throughout the exercise. The State Coordinator, who was represented by the Camp Director-designate, Mr. Sebastine Bulus, gave the charge on Thursday while presiding over a meeting with heads of collaborating agencies at the NYSC Secretariat, Kalambaina, Sokoto. Mr. Gabriel said the meeting was convened to discuss important issues and strategies that would ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the orientation course. He presented some of the resolutions reached during the pre-orientation meeting, describing them as guiding principles for all officials selected to participate in the exercise. The Coordinator particularly emphasized the importance of security, tasking security agencies to intensify their efforts towards ensuring a safe and threat-free environment throughout the camping period. He commended the security architecture put in place during the previous orientation course and urged the agencies to sustain the tempo by working closely and maintaining effective synergy. Mr. Gabriel also reminded all camp officials that attendance at all scheduled programmes is compulsory. He informed them that the State Coordinator’s briefing for prospective Corps Members would hold on Thursday, October 1, 2026, stressing that all camp officials are expected to be in attendance. He assured the collaborating agencies of the NYSC management’s support and cooperation in carrying out their assigned responsibilities. “We assure you of our support and cooperation to enable you to effectively carry out your assigned schedules throughout your stay in camp,” he said. The Coordinator further urged all officials to be receptive and friendly towards prospective Corps Members, particularly during their arrival and registration, while cautioning against corporal punishment or any form of physical abuse throughout the camping exercise. He called on all officials to work as a team and remain committed to their duties to ensure a successful and hitch-free orientation course.

NYSC TAKES HIRD INITIATIVE TO NAYINAWA, REACHES 315 BENEFICIARIES The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Yobe State, has taken its Third Quarter Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) to Nayinawa community in Damaturu, providing medical attention and basic healthcare services to 315 beneficiaries. The outreach, held on Thursday, 24th September 2026, at Nayinawa Primary School, was organised as part of the Scheme’s Community Development Service (CDS) initiatives aimed at improving access to healthcare and contributing to the wellbeing of underserved communities. In his welcome address, the Head of CDS, Assistant Director Mustapha O. Saidu, emphasised the importance of taking healthcare interventions to communities where residents may encounter challenges accessing medical services. Representing the NYSC Yobe State Coordinator, Mr. Okochi Okpara, the Head of Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr. Abubakar Abdulkadir, delivered the opening remarks and declared the programme open. He was accompanied by the Head of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Auwal Muhammad; Head of Corps Discipline and Rewards, Mr. Suleiman Abdullahi; Local Government Inspectors in Damaturu, and other NYSC officials. The medical outreach featured the active participation of NYSC corps doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other corps members, who provided consultations, treatment and health guidance to beneficiaries. Medical conditions attended to included malaria/typhoid, ulcer, eye-related problems, body pains, among other common ailments. The intervention provided an avenue for residents to receive medical attention while reinforcing the NYSC’s commitment to using Community Development Service as a platform for addressing identified needs and improving the quality of life within host communities. The programme was also attended by Bulama Grema, representative of the District Head, alongside community members, staff and pupils of Nayinawa Primary School. In his vote of thanks, the headmaster of Nayinawa Primary School, Mr. Sulaiman Abdullahi, appreciated the NYSC for bringing the healthcare initiative to the community, noting its significance to the beneficiaries. The successful outreach further demonstrated the Scheme’s commitment to its mandate of service to humanity and national development through impactful community-based interventions.
