On This Day in 1968, Led Zeppelin Played Their First UK Concert
On October 4, 1968, the four musicians who would become Led Zeppelin made their British live debut at the Mayfair Ballroom in Newcastle.
They were still billed as The New Yardbirds. Jimmy Page had assembled Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones into a completely new lineup, and the band had already tested itself with a handful of Scandinavian dates the previous month.
Newcastle brought that lineup home. What the crowd saw was effectively the birth of a new band, even though the name Led Zeppelin had not yet appeared on a poster.
Within weeks, The New Yardbirds would become Led Zeppelin. Their debut album followed in early 1969, and in an astonishingly short time they were one of the most important rock bands in the world.

Kendrick Perkins on Jalen Brunson:
"Every year he gotta fight to prove his damn love. No way in hell that we can sit up here right now, and put Luka Doncic in front of Jalen Brunson after what he displayed last year in the postseason. And if you want to take it a step further over the last three years, Jalen Brunson, in my eyes, has been the best player in the Eastern Conference consistently. Yes, because Giannis has been injured...but big body Brunson has been reliable...I don't know how we start this season without Jalen Brunson being in the top 5"

🚨 RUBIO JUST SAID THE NUMBER THEY NEVER WANTED ON TV 🚨
Americans work 40 years.
They retire.
Social Security: $800. $900. A thousand a month.
Somebody who got here from Cuba three months ago: $1,500 a month.
Marco Rubio said it out loud.
“So imagine if you’ve been working here for 40 years and your Social Security check is smaller than the benefits going to a 28-year-old, able-bodied person who just got here. That’s real. That happens. That’s happening every day. That makes no sense.”
You paid in.
They landed.
They beat your check.
That’s not compassion.
That’s a slap in the face with your own tax dollars.
