Just wrapped up a productive workshop at the @WHO Berlin Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence on "Evaluation of Publication Health Analytics"! Joined an amazing group of colleagues from around the world to layout a framework to support data to decision making! Stay tuned...
The growing (known) virosphere!
Incredible - using AI, 161,979 putative RNA virus species and 180 RNA virus supergroups identified (mostly) in SRA. A massive increase in the number of described viruses: in 2022, ICTV has classified 11,273 named virus species.

When it rains it pours: Rwanda reports finding an unspecified number of #Marburg cases in "health facilities" — note that's plural — in the country.
Do not like the look of this.
Unfortunately, couldn't make it to the World One Health Congress #WOHC2024 this time around. Bummed to miss the chance to reconnect with close #OneHealth colleagues from around the world and to make new linkages, but wishing everyone a fruitful meeting in Cape Town!

Debarment of the EcoHealth Alliance is both unjust + jeopardizes our nation’s biosecurity. It’s among the few orgs we have to monitor emerging zoonotic influenzas, CoVs across Asia, the Middle East. Shutting this down for Qanon conspiracies puts the American 🇺🇸 people at risk
