COMING SOON: The Automated Ball-Strike Challenge System (ABS) presented by @TMobile will be used during Spring Training games for the first time ever. ABS has been tested in the minor leagues since 2021, and 2025 will be the first test with the Major League players. About 60% of 2025 Spring Training games will be played using the ABS Challenge system. The ABS system uses a set of cameras around the field to track the pitch location and allows players on the field to challenge an umpire’s ball-strike call. ABS Challenge Rules: - Each team starts the game with two challenges. - Only the batter, the pitcher, or the catcher can challenge an umpire’s call. - A challenge must be made immediately after the umpire’s call without assistance from the dugout or other players. - A scoreboard graphic will show the location of the pitch and the result of the challenge. - Successful challenges are retained – you only lose your challenge if the umpire’s call is confirmed.

Dear @SpotifyCares @Spotify, Feature Request: Please add a "Most Replayed" feature like on YouTube, which highlights the most-watched(listened) parts of a video(song) on the progress timeline. Jamm'in to fav tunes, would appreciate this feature to fast find iconic solos! 🎶🙏♥️

We've been in an epic multi-month battle to get nextjs.org and vercel.com into good shape for INP. We learned that we & others are thinking about INP wrong. This post sets it right & we're shipping the tools we built to optimize vercel.com/blog/demystifying…

Here's a quick Friday or weekend mini-project for you: why don't you spend a few mins to add Speculation Rules to your blog (or site) to quick speed it up? Simply adding this script tag to your pages will allow intra-site links to prerender as soon as you hover on them. 🧵 1/6

We're looking to make a change to CrUX API and BigQuery to remove ECT dimension, and potentially replace it with something similar but as a metric. Let us know if this change will impact you or if you need more time to handle this change.
Replying to @ChromeUXReport
We want to give you advance notice for a change we are considering to make for the Sep 10th release. We are looking to drop the Effective Connection Type (ECT) dimension since it is proving less useful as more and more internet traffic has moved to the wide-ranging 4G bucket.

What is TTFB? What is it not? It may surprise you that those questions are a bit more tricky to answer than you might assume. We've added a section to our docs to explain a bit more: web.dev/articles/ttfb#other-…

3G is so last 2010s 🥱 Even "Fast 3G" feels too slow for many performance traces in Chrome DevTools. So we decided to rename "Fast 3G" to "Slow 4G" to match Lighthouse, and also add a "Fast 4G" setting for your pleasure. In Chrome Canary already and should be in Chrome 127.

We've some big plans for the Chrome DevTools Performance Panel to make it easier to use and not get overwhelmed with the huge amount of data in there. Check out this post on the first few features we released for that. And plenty more to come in the not too distant future!

Web Vitals Extension v1.5.1 has been released with new INP debug data in the console logging. See where your INP time is being spent—is it your event handler's JavaScript? Or input delay before that? OR presentation delay after that? Plus LoAF data to see what else was running.

I'm testing Gemini Nano in Chrome: it needs 20GB and a GPU with +4GB RAM among other requirements. I found it good for summarization, translation, categorization. Not so good for any factual stuff. I know it's a general issue on LLMs, but hallucination is huge.
