IPE Global at COP30 | Echoing the Voice of the Global South As COP30 comes to a close, we reflect on a strong & meaningful presence in Belem. This year, our work focused on amplifying #GlobalSouth leadership, strengthening climate partnerships and sharing evidence from #communities that live with climate impacts every day. Led by @Abinash0294 , Global Sector Head, Climate Change and Sustainability, IPE Global engaged across key dialogues at COP30, we engaged with #governments, #globalagencies, climate negotiators, researchers and frontline leaders to support fair, people centred and locally grounded climate action. Contributing to discussions on #climatefinance, #justtransition, #innovation, #resilientcities and #adaptation, ensuring that equity and community voices remained at the heart of the dialogue. Our presence at COP30 included: • More than 35 bilateral meetings with governments and partners • Engagement with over 50 global agencies and knowledge organisations including UNFCCC, Manila Observatory, University of Dhaka, Dominican Republic, Vanuatu and others • More than 5 UNFCCC side events and 3 pavilion events co-hosted with INECC, AIPRC, ICCCAD, African Union Pavilion, SCINDeA Network, Gram Saarthi, UNFCCC and others • Over 25 media engagements to amplify Global South perspectives Highlights from Our Side Events: Loss and Damage Countries shared national measures to address irreversible climate impacts, strengthen #accountability and link national action with the Loss and Damage Fund. Voices from the Global South and Pacific stressed the need for #fair and #inclusive approaches as the Warsaw International Mechanism underwent review at COP30. Just Transition Discussions highlighted that Just Transition impacts cross borders and require aligned national strategies. #Collaborative governance was identified as key to ensuring fair and shared benefits during the phaseout of #fossilfuels. South-South Innovation The session showcased the value of collaboration within the Global South to scale affordable and context appropriate climate technologies. Community led action, green skills and local finance models emerged as strong drivers of just and #climateready urban transitions. Cities and Climate Finance The session underscored the need for accessible, transparent and locally grounded climate finance for #vulnerable cities. Speakers highlighted community #leadership, frontline knowledge and people centred solutions as the foundation of #resilient urban futures. Global South Voices Frontline leaders shared lived experiences and community driven solutions. The dialogue reinforced the importance of South-South cooperation and the need to position the Global South as a central driver of global climate solutions. Throughout COP30, one message stood out, lasting climate progress can only be achieved when the #knowledge, #leadership and #realities of the Global South guide global climate action. IPE Global was pleased to host the delegation from the African Centre of Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD) at the IPE Global #Headquarters in New Delhi on 25th November 2025, Tuesday. The #delegation was led by Dr. Ousmane Ndiaye, Director General of #ACMAD and member of our High-Level International Advisory Group (#HLIAG), along with other ACMAD colleagues . Together with colleagues from IPE Global, the meeting focused on operationalising the MoU signed earlier this year and identifying priority areas to strengthen #collaboration, particularly across the #African region.
