People don't understand how insanely high IQ Newton was. This is a man who had no background in math or algebra until he was ~20. In <3 years, Newton got himself to the frontier, then invented calculus, thought of the inverse square law, and the theory of colors & light. He was so intellectually superior he withdrew from the scientific community because he had no peers. Only when Halley was trying to calculate planets' motion by means of an inverse square law, he remembered he knew this old, extremely intelligent professor; he might be able to help him. When the problem was taken to Newton, he said "it's such and such." How do you know, asked Halley. "I proved it a couple of years ago." That's what led to The Principia; it was the exposition of what Newton had uncovered in his younger years and was lying around as a pile of private papers.

If I posted a horribly written paper claiming to solve a big problem (Lean certificate and all) while giving no credit and never engaging the community working on it, I’d be considered an academic sociopath. Keep it up and I’d be isolated.

Reading the comments of junior mathematicians confirms what many senior mathematicians have been warning about over the past month:
It is becoming clear that people with the intellectual ability to understand these proofs will not be interested in spending their lives training to check LLM logs.
This is the tragic side of what is happening that almost no one — except the actual mathematicians — seems to get.
Either we figure out how to keep people interested in doing mathematics, or in 20 years LLMs will have no one’s work left to recombine into new proofs, and no one interested in reading those proofs.
That would be the thermal death of mathematics.
The argument that “LLMs will read LLM math” is so shortsighted that it makes me want to cry…
One thing that never ceases to amaze me about SLs is how they fail to calculate how much to produce, even with years of data and experience, or is it actually the constant FOMO and the poor shopping experience that drive this a deliberate decision?

I'm pretty sure the issues with Pro Tour prize support could be fixed for very little real cost to Wizards by printing better promos like other games do.

5-3 con Gruul Landfall en el RC Santiago, el mazo es una elección sólida contra los mazos más jugados del meta (Dimir Mid, Lessons, Control), pero la lotería de matchups no me acompañó mucho hoy, recomiendo mucho esta lista, aunque en lista cerrada seguramente cortaría Full Bore
