Analysis Multiversi is out now: nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e…
What is the epistemic goal of multiverse analysis? Should we incorporate the uncertainty in many analyst approaches into our statistical inferences? (😬)? Is the variability mainly due to low effort of non-experts?
Our new episode on multiverse analysis is out now! nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e…
Our new episode on incentives in science is out now! We talk about the different kinds of incentives (prestige, awards, money, tenure, etc.)--when they help and how they might hurt science

Thanks @lakens and @smreeteemehta! I had not read Medawar's paper. Great stuff. I have to say I teach business school students to treat their theories as systems of expectation that frame their hypotheses. (Link in next post.)
New episode on P. Medawar's paper "Is Scientific Paper a Fraud?" is out now!

Question for those in the majority: What are some other routes that may not be as strong as science but are still valid?
When it comes to reliable means of identifying what’s true, science is…
17%The only valid route
64%The strongest/best route
15%One of many routes
4%Not sure/it depends

Second part of the episode on p-hacking is out today! (You can blame Smriti for the delay.) We discuss accusations of p-hacking, whether p-hacking should still be considered a QRM, and how we might reduce the prevalence of p-hacking:

New episode of Nullius In Verba, part 1 of 2: What is metascience? nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e…
We dig into the history, starting from 1938, and discuss the role of philosophy, sociology, and psychology, and what, if anything, makes metascience it's own discipline.

New episode of @nulliusverbapod on Premature Experimentation: nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e… Are experiments overused, and should we make greater use of other approaches to knowledge generation? If so, which methods should we use instead? Enjoy!

In our next episode of Nullius In Verba we will dive into the history of metascience. The first mention of 'metascience' in the literature we could find is Morris, 1938. Do you know of an earlier mention of the term 'metascience'?

New episode of @nulliusverbapod on exploratory experimentation. Why does exploratory research seem to be valued less? How can we do it well? nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e…
