a little more insight into what my new book, 'Fracture', is all about—in which I manage to include a reference to 'Hot Fuzz' and a clip of 'the greater good'

Good to see this getting more attention—as I commented back in January, “People will use AI to generate all sorts of well-sourced submissions with little effort for themselves while placing a huge burden on the public sector in the process.”

New post:
"Drowning in slop"
Large parts of the state are being increasingly overwhelmed with complaints, appeals, objections.... written by AI. It's gumming up every process.
How bad has it got and what can we do about it?

Great article by @jimwaterson on “How Burnham can curb Britain’s tax-dodging shops” pointing out, amongst many other important points, how easily “identity” can be gamed

ALT Text from the article: “Talk to those involved in dodgy shops and they laugh at the ease and low cost with which you can start a new company in Britain. The new ID verification for directors, introduced with enormous fanfare by Companies House, is easily circumvented by finding a real person, often a skint international student, willing to declare they own a business in exchange for a few hundred pounds. This poor sap is then left answering the door to HM Revenue & Customs or investigative journalists.”
… although this seems to be just one of numerous problems with “identity” and business of course …
