We're designing Nowa inside Nowa itself. This made us ship things 10x faster. Here's how:
Nowa can import an existing #Flutter project and render it with full visual editing capabilities, thanks to a custom Flutter interpreter we've been building since 2021.
Internally, we've been designing Nowa inside Nowa without Figma for a while now. Recently, a few teams pushed us to make this use case public.
It works like this: we split Nowa's source code into UI and logic layers, each living in its own package. This lets designers and developers work in parallel without stepping on each other's toes.
So designers simply import the UI package of the Nowa repo into Nowa itself. They build full designs and prototypes using AI and full visual editing, and share the prototypes with the team and some customers for feedback.
These prototypes match how the final feature will look and feel, because they're real Flutter UI prototypes, not just mockups.
When we agree on the winning prototype, designers keep refining the details and improving the user experience, then commit the changes directly to the repo.
At the same time, developers build the logic and data in the logic package, with their own IDE and AI agents, without waiting for the UI.
The time and effort this saves is incredible: no UI-to-code translation, no design reviews, no UI tickets between designers and developers, and no rebuilding existing design mocks.
On top of that, we ship things that look and feel better than before, just by giving our designers full ownership of the UI/UX. They design fast with AI, test how each UI component looks and behaves in different states and scenarios, build animations, refine the full experience, and get accurate feedback on their prototypes.
We believe this is how great products should be built within teams.
A few Fortune 500 companies are already using Nowa for this exact use case.
If you want to try it out with your own team, let us know at [email protected].
Great apps don't start with features. They start with design.
Meet the Design agent at Nowa 🎨
It's hard to get good results when you start an app working on features and design together. You get distracted, get mediocre designs from a generic AI agent, and design changes are way more expensive to do later.
The Design agent puts your building flow on the right path, so you can build great apps in record time.
You can now create more unique and compelling designs, experiment with different directions early on before committing, and keep iterating with AI and visual editing until the design looks and feels right.

We upgraded the model behind Nowa to Gemini 3.7 flash.
We noticed a big improvement on ruplicating screenshots into designs, long running tasks and debugging.
It's also 50% cheaper than Gemini 3.6 flash, and we passing those savings to you! Meaning your same plan limit is now doubled in terms of token usage.
We wrote a full blog on it. Link in comments
Two weeks ago we switched the model behind Nowa from Gemini 3.5 Flash to 3.6 Flash.
We didn't announce it. But the feedback started coming in anyway. The agent is faster (around 2x from what we measured), fixes complex bugs it used to get stuck on, and the UI and animations it generates just look better.
The funny part: the new model is also cheaper. It uses ~17% fewer tokens for the same work, so a typical task costs about a third less now. We're passing that to our users.
Also, we kept seeing people build more advanced apps on Nowa than we did see before, and hence they needed more AI usage, so we doubled the daily AI limits on the free and Launch plans, and tripled for Scale with the same prices.
Better model + fewer tokens per task + higher limits = you can build a lot more per day than you could a month ago.
So if you haven't tried Nowa in the past 10 days, now is a really good time.
Also Nowa is fully free this weekend, so go ahead and give it a try!

Nowa is completely free this weekend. And we're giving away $1,500+ in prizes.
For 48 hours, you get full access to our AI + visual editor to turn any idea into a modern app that runs on any platform — iOS, Android, and Web.
Build it. Then deploy it to the App Store, Play Store, or Web in one click.
We're also running a weekend hackathon:
The 3 most beautiful apps built this weekend win:
→ $500 in AI credits
→ Hands-on support from our team to scale your app
→ A feature on our social channels
And everyone who participates gets $50 in AI credits to keep building after the weekend ends.
Sseats are limited.
Reserve yours by going to our website, or use the link in the comments.
What will you build in those 48 hours?
Meet "NYC Instantly" App, one of the winners of Nowa's Free Weekend Hackathon.
You might already know Katja Sherlock — the photographer and filmmaker behind nyc on Instagram, where almost 1 million people follow her daily posts capturing the beauty and energy of New York.
Her craft is cameras, not code. But when our 48-hour Free Weekend Competition opened, she didn't just capture the city. She built for it.
Here's what NYC Instantly does: it's a curated guide to NYC's best hidden experiences — secret basement jazz sessions, pop-up food markets, outdoor cinema nights, neighborhood microtours. Instead of scrolling ten different blogs and ticketing sites, you open one app and filter by vibe: Cozy. Romantic. Energetic. Solo. Family.
Out in SoHo and want to keep the day going? The "Today" tab shows you what's starting near you in the next few hours. Every listing is verified — no spam, no tourist traps, just the real New York.
The app comes with curated listings, live maps, mood-based search, and a host portal for locals to submit their own events.
Built in one weekend. By a filmmaker, not a coder.
Huge congratulations to Katja 👏 She's taking home $500 worth of AI credits and hands-on support from our team to scale NYC Instantly into something big!
She spent years showing people the real New York through her lens. Now she built the app version. What's the app YOUR audience has been asking you for?

Meet Vardr, one of the 3 winners of Nowa's Free Weekend Hackathon 🏆
Scott Howard (find him on X: @jagnoirtech) built this app during Nowa's 48-hour Free Weekend Competition.
Here's what it does: it listens for a vocal trigger phrase and switches into Guardian Mode. From there, one spoken phrase can call the police, share your live location with a loved one, text for help, or set off an alarm.
Imagine walking home late at night. Someone steps out of an alley. You don't have to unlock your phone. You don't have to dial. You just speak, and help is already on the way.
The app uses voice recognition, background listening and emergency automation.
Huge congratulations to Scott 👏 He's taking home $500 worth of AI credits and hands-on support from our team to scale his app into something big!
If you had 48 hours and zero limits, what would YOU build?
