The CO2 level reading below shows that the room's mechanical ventilation system keeps the CO2 level around 800 ppm. This means a sensor measures the room's CO2 level in real time to instruct the ventilation system on how to refresh the indoor air.

The importance of adequate indoor air renewal in public spaces has been known since the 19th century: in some theaters, fresh air is delivered to each spectator through vents located beneath the seats. Infographics on this subject are available at letsair.org.

In the grand auditorium of @maisondelaradio, ventilation is provided via vents located beneath each seat, delivering fresh air directly to the audience (yellow arrows). This is a well-known solution that ensures excellent indoor air renewal and comfort and reducing health risks.

I find these really annoying. By all means pick a big brand purifier with high published CADR of 520m3/hr but don’t run it on speed 1 because of noise (160m3/hr) and then say that HEPAs don’t make a difference to absence levels 😡. New Bristol Study: jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…

This randomized clinical trial investigates whether high-efficiency particulate air filters in communal rooms and private bedrooms reduce respiratory infection episodes in care home residents.

It is worth noting that building a DIY model is an excellent educational tool for demonstrating that an air cleaner consists of a filter, a fan, and a power supply—and that this is all that is needed. It also serves as a reminder that noise is a factor to consider.
