Abdul El-Sayed’s sister is deleting posts admitting that her family are active within the Muslim Brotherhood. It would be a shame if this went viral.

Replying to @nntaleb
It is certainly irrational to assume that claiming to be disturbed by those things is equal to proving they are true (nor do they become true if you throw in too many terms to respond to at once) It is no better than the medieval blood-libeler claiming “I’m just disgusted by murdering Christian children and using their blood for matzah". But it is worse, because one who is truly disgusted by (most of) these things would direct his energy at Hamas, which is certainly responsible for genocide, child killing, torture, etc. And Kasparov’s point that Pillay and the Hamas bomb maker have taken the same side is certainly not addressed by attaching to him a term that is itself insensitive and inappropriate as an insult, and none of this is what I would have expected from someone whose books I had once admired and who Anthony Glickman considered a friend.

So it is *irrational* to be disturbed by child killing, torture, dehumanizing goim, genodice, land theft, colonial settlement, Apartheid, Christophobia, disposession, state terrorism, fake genetic origin, injustice, violation of int'l law, & censorship of Western media.

When a terrorist tried to blow up 140 kids in a Michigan synagogue, Abdul sympathized with the terrorist. That alone should be disqualifying.

Recently released 2023–24 CRDC data show that Jewish students are the most frequently targeted for religion-based bullying. On the third anniversary of the tragedy of October 7, we encourage teachers, administrators, and state leaders to uphold civil rights protections and ensure every student has a safe learning environment.

1️⃣ God teaches us many lessons in this week’s parsha… Among the most powerful is ״ hachnasat orchim, ״hosting guests.״

9️⃣ Kindness begins when we open the door. It’s proven when we walk someone to it.
34
8️⃣ Real hachnasat orchim means being there for people not only in our space, but wherever they’re heading next.

7️⃣ “Levayah” reminds us that kindness doesn’t end at the threshold. To walk someone out is to say: I care about your path, not just your presence.
28
6️⃣ But that’s not what hosting is about. It’s not about self aggrandizement. It’s not about pride. It’s about care.
23
5️⃣ When we host, it’s easy to focus on how generous we seem, or how put together our home feels. It’s easy to think we’re showing guests the “right” way to do things.

4️⃣ The Gemara (Sotah 46b, Shabbat 127a) says it’s about safety, and that is indeed where the Rambam is quoting from. But maybe Rambam is hinting at something deeper, as well.
24
3️⃣ According to Sefaria, levayah means “to accompany.” Why start a discussion on hospitality with what happens at the end, when the guest is already on their way out?
29
2️⃣It’s an Abrahamic ideal we’re meant to take to heart. But the Rambam (Hilchot Avel 14:1–2) highlights something surprising: ״levayah, ״escorting guests as they leave.
