In other news, @brysondech YouTube channel has surpassed 3 million subscribers! I recall talking to Bryson about his YT years ago & the ideas he had & potential it had - been awesome seeing what he’s done no longer under the thumb of the @PGATour ✅

I guess I need to remind everyone of my pro golf gripes again: ▶️ I watched the Tour for almost 30 years. Post Tiger/Phil it was boring/stale. ▶️ Courses on Tour are mostly unappealing - too milquetoast. TPC ain’t it in modern golf. ▶️ Broadcasts were degrading: too many commercials, over-corporatized, broadcast talent drain. It wasn’t engaging anymore. ▶️ That over-corporatization kills individualism & personalities. ▶️ All that combined with 40+ events in all the same format on similar courses with very few courses I wanted to watch, with a lot of uninteresting players just nuked my interest & I wanted something new. Different style courses in other parts of the 🌎 interests me. Better broadcasts that show more golf & more of my favorite players interests me. PGL piqued my interest - LIV was able to pull it off. Combination. Add on to that all the @PGATour skullduggery I’ve uncovered the last 4 years, and the corrupt golf media that protects the establishment and I’m out on it - doesn’t matter what happens with LIV. If the Tour can thrive & grow as-is, with no changes - more power to them. But IDT it will grow & bring in younger fans & veteran fans turned off to the current product without MAJOR changes. They’re like a 2/10 in what they need to do. Faking the linear TV ratings, propaganda & bad narratives only goes so far and bringing all the LIV players back won’t fix all my issues either. Those are the cliffs notes but I talk about this on @GLUgolfclub all the time. I’ve said this so many times it really does bore me.🥱 Charities are fine, but the only charity that has added to my personal entertainment is #TheHumanFund. 😂 (Don’t get me started on the fake charities). Bookmark this, save it bc I’m not doing it again.
Replying to @ProGolfCritic
what exactly was so terrible about the existing golf “establishment” pre-LIV? purses were great. the Tour gave billions to local charities. rarely if ever embroiled in controversy. LIV simply tried to buy its way into pro golf by outspending the competition. it failed because the Saudis don’t understand the American sports consumer. furthermore, that model was never the long play. it was designed as a temporary bridge over the moat while they infiltrated the castle. could you for once just honest about what it really was..?

By the way, some of you are always looking for me to badmouth The LIV players that leave LIV & it will never happen - I’ve never had a bad experience with any player. So many have gone out of their way to talk to me or thank me & that means a lot👊🏽. Unlike CGM members that trashed every player that went to LIV, I supported their right to decide on their own terms then AND now. I criticized @PGATour players for not going because I knew most would never see that 💰 again. Any reputational “harm” was temporary, mostly fake & there would always be a path back. This has materialized the last year as I knew it would. 💯 Selfishly, of course I wanted them all to go because every departure damaged the establishment - but it’s their prerogative. Didn’t like it but respected - well, most. But no player should HAVE to choose 1 or the other - that’s been my primary frustration with the Tour from the beginning - and all fans that don’t see the big picture there frustrates me to no end - you’re blaming the wrong people for the division. There is no friction in pro golf in 2027 without the PGAT bureaucracy - everything tracks back to that. But we are living in a new timeline - that bureaucracy isn’t what it once was - much of the old guard is gone or on the way out. I think you’ll continue to see less of an adversarial relationship in pro golf in 2027 & 2028. Whether the Tour can make their product watchable for me again is anyone’s guess. They haven’t done nearly enough yet - the broadcasts are still bad to mediocre, and the propaganda - or as my brother says “d*ck riding” 😂 - needs to stop post haste. It’s vomit inducing and one you see it you can’t unsee it. PS - don’t mistake this for me being a “fan” of every @livgolf_league player. I’m not (I’ve mentioned some in the past). I’m either positive (most) or indifferent (some). Just 0 negatives. I’ll cite some examples in the coming weeks/months though.

Had a chance to listen to Ted Goldthorpe for the 1st time for 30 mins today & I came away SUPER impressed. THIS is what I’ve been waiting to hear: “you don’t have to go back & do things they way they were done 50 years ago.” 🎯 Modern tech, YouTube, rethink things. Let’s GO!!!

BIG congrats also to Joaquin Niemann for winning his 1st #ChileOpen today! It’s his 10th win on the Chilean Tour. Dude is a rockstar in his home country. I heard he signed autographs for all these kids afterwards. Part of the culture! 👏🏽👏🏽 @TorqueGC_ @joaconiemann 🇨🇱

The 1st time I heard Bryson mention the Mr Beast comparison was when I asked him about his @YouTube channel almost 3 years ago at @livgolf_league Miami. It’s amazing to see him actually doing what he set out to do. ✅ @brysondech
Honestly shame on us for not seeing "Bryson goes full Mr. Beast of golf" coming

Like @flushingitgolf, I’ve also been the target of attacks from @NoLayingUp & their minions. Luckily, I don’t really care what they say, but gotta stand up for Flush here. Facts are I know all of the @livgolf_league media personally & can say confidently that none of us are/were paid by LIV. All media get the same treatment, gifts & food at events, etc. Frankly, @jcorrigangolf & @BobHarig have prob gotten more free stuff than I have. 😂. We all have our different relationships & sources now - that helps. Even if LIV goes away, the relationships remain. That’s been THE BEST part of LIV for me - not even close. Another fact: Flush and I don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things & we’ve gotten into pretty serious disagreements in the past. But I respect what he does and I know he means well, has integrity & that means something to him. That I know. 💯. I think he can be a loose cannon sometimes and I’ve told him that several times😎. And he has his criticisms of me. Fine. Agree to disagree. Speaking of “integrity” that brings us to NLU. Very few outfits have torched their reputation & integrity with its former fans (like me) & some players more than they have. They will always have sycophants ofc - like Mike Kim, Max Homa, etc. Predictable. Luckily they’re all huge dorks so I’m not concerned with them or their opinions😂. I’m good where I’m at. NLU *could* have led the charge, played both sides in this PGAT/LIV deal and covered all sides fairly - they had the access & experience/relationships to do so. But I know that wasn’t an option for them and that opened up a space for many of us - particularly the ones they mention on their podcast on the regular. NLU’s management will not let them cover LIV fairly or else they would have been dropped. The same management that’s landed them 7 figure deals with the establishment. Look, that’s their business - I don’t fault them for that - but their lack of honesty re: the LIV stuff has been glaring to me, I don’t like it, and I’ve obviously called attention to it many times. So many times that I don’t feel like I need to do it anymore. It’s the same management that dumped multiple people that became associated with LIV and now aren’t represented by them for that reason. I’ve talked to them in depth about this. I know the deal - time will expose all of that for sure. Honest take: I think when you start out independent, then sell out to the establishment - it takes a toll & can drive you mad. Every time I tune in to NLU there is evidence of this. Laughing maniacally at things that are objectively unfunny is the biggest tell. It’s objectively weird & obvious to me. I like to laugh as much as the next person, but so much of what they laugh at is forced and a cover & deflection for them. It’s like a psychological game. I’ve said that for 3 years. I was a loyal listener for many years. Exchanged messages with several of them. I still like some of what they do, but me being a “fan” - that ship has sailed. No NEST membership. No more merch. No $ from me. I’m good. I said 2 years ago it was on them to lead the charge to stop the divisiveness in the media and mend fences. But there’s no 💰 in that so I don’t expect that for sure (corrupt😊). 🤷🏽‍♂️. I just gotta say something on Flush’s behalf - he has his differences with LIV leadership & execs, as do I. I tend to not say too much on that publicly because I appreciate what they’ve done for me - mostly the ones that are no longer there. But I will always respect how receptive they’ve been to direct criticism from me. That alone commands respect. 👊🏽
I’ve been made aware that members of No Laying Up said on a recent podcast that I have been reporting bad news from LIV Golf because I was “waiting for some payments to come in.” They have also regularly insinuated for 4 years that I have been paid for covering the league and I have now “flipped”. This is completely false. While I shouldn’t have to defend myself against these accusations. Due to the size of their platform I felt I had to address it. I do not make any money from Flushing It Golf outside of the minor ad revenue share from social media platforms and I never have. There’s been plenty of opportunities to sell out for financial incentives, but I’ve rejected every single offer. I’ve never shared this publicly, but my motivation to start this account came after Covid as an outlet to get away from serious issues I had in my personal life that I was struggling to deal with. It began as a meme account, but has taken many different forms in its short existence to where I now try my hardest to share interesting news stories in as factual a way as possible with extensive sourcing. I know it’s hard for some people to believe, but I am literally just a tradesman from the UK who is obsessed with golf. So I talk about it online and I really enjoy it. Thanks to you all for following. I really appreciate it. Tom 👍

I'm excited about the possibilities of what LIV 2.0 can bring for pro golf - I went in depth on the @livgolf_league statement today on our latest episode. Lots to be sorted still, but it's a start! LIV isn't the puzzle, but it's part of the puzzle - I explain. @GLUgolfclub

🇺🇸 History lesson: ▶️ General George C. Marshall was one of the most decorated & well respected soldiers in 🇺🇸 History. ▶️ He was the Chief Architect of the Allied Strategy in Europe during World War II that helped defeat Nazi Germany & the Axis Powers in 1945. ▶️ He also led the post-WWII recovery plan to rebuild Europe - known as “The Marshall Plan.” ▶️ Gen. Marshall is universally recognized as an American Hero 🫡 & was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953. ▶️ In 1948, he was the US Secretary of State under President Harry S. Truman: the President’s most trusted advisor & one of the most respected Americans. No one was more qualified to talk strategy & geopolitics. ▶️ That same year, a crisis was brewing in the Middle East, with Civil War in Palestine being the linchpin - between the new Jewish settlers & native Palestinians. British mandate over Palestine was scheduled to end in May which would escalate the conflict. Marshall looked at this situation through the same strategic lens that helped rebuild Europe. ▶️ His Marshall Plan relied heavily on Middle Eastern oil & the wrong move could result in alienating Arab nations. That could be catastrophic for world affairs - pushing the nations into the arms of the Soviet Union as the Cold War was starting to escalate. ▶️ May 12, 1948: in a secret White House meeting, a clash of White House Advisors occurred. Truman’s Chief Counsel & political advisor, Clark Clifford vs Marshall’s State Department. With the new Jewish state (Israel) set to declare its independence, Clifford argued immediate & swift support of the new state of Israel was the morally & politically expedient thing to do - as it would help Truman guarantee the Jewish-American vote in the upcoming election - and likely victory. ▶️ Marshall disagreed in favor of United Nations trusteeship over Palestine over outright independence. He thought it was beyond dangerous to sacrifice long term national security for short term political capital - it was a betrayal of what he stood for. He warned that once Israel declared independence, surrounding Arab armies would invade - forcing 🇺🇸 into a prolonged, endless war of protection that they could not afford after post WW2 demobilization of the Army & protection of Europe against the Soviets. ▶️ Marshall had helped send millions of American men to fight in a war of necessity. The last thing he wanted was prolonged conflict that would ensure even more American casualties. ▶️ Marshall told Truman that if he recognized the new state of Israel, he could not support him & would vote against him. Most thought he would resign & turn the populace against Truman if he didn’t follow his advice - ensuring election defeat. But Marshall had more integrity than that. ▶️ 2 days later, Truman circumvented Marshall’s State Dept and immediately & formally recognized Israel’s independence on May 14, 1948. ▶️ Even though he vehemently disagreed, Marshall did not resign & he did not publicly go against the President. He was a soldier 1st and believed in the 🇺🇸 Constitution & the American chain of command. ▶️ Truman barely won the 1948 election. ▶️ But Marshall was spot on with his analysis. War & decades of conflict ensued. 🇺🇸 became perpetually entangled in Middle Eastern affairs, geopolitics & wars that continue to this day. Exactly what Marshall wanted to avoid. But even with his immense resume, it was not his call to make. This pivot point tends to get lost in American History and it’s a pivot that could’ve gone either way. But almost 80 years later, Gen @georgecmarshall’s legacy, patriotism & leadership should never be forgotten! 🫡

I spent part of yesterday #1 watching the @PGATOUR (shocking I know) & #2 talking to people who had a large influence in golf TV in the 90s & 2000s. I told them: I did not realize how good we had it back then. Announcers that were insightful, 🎤 teams w/ chemistry, interesting segments, players that were more interesting/dynamic & we had more personalities. The tour was a lot more interesting and less corporate. Even the events without Tiger/Phil I’d watch. The Tour has to get all the players back - they have no choice - but even then, that’s only a small part of making their product better & more interesting. Less commercials helps. The structural/competitive changes will help some too, but I just don’t think you can recreate how good those broadcasts were with what you currently have. I felt like you learned something new every week on TV that you could take to the golf course. That’s how I got engaged in the game in the 1st place. These broadcasts are just not that anymore. Maybe those days are completely gone & it’s a new era, but it was so clear to me they have a lot of work to do. You can fake interest all you want with manipulated TV ratings (I’m sure this event will break some record that no one will believe), but that will only take them so far. Most people I’ve talked to watch less PGAT golf now than before (except for gamblers, but IDT that’s good). Going back to 2021 isn’t the answer. LIV 1.0 helped but wasn’t the answer - 2.0 probably isn’t either. There’s still a big opportunity in the space. Something better has to come from all of this - I don’t know what pro golf will look like in 5-10 years now. I have little confidence in the Tour’s motivations to actually make it better. Yes I have more confidence in the new leadership than in the old, but that bar is low. I don’t think I’ll watch much PGAT in 2027 - been there done that - I was losing interest in 2021 let alone now. Even bringing Brooks & PReed out of the penalty box & bringing Rahm back - it helps but the presentation of the product is a huge part of it all and it’s just not very good. They don’t just need a makeover, they need a completely new identity. I said 5 years ago that long term we’d be better off blowing it all up and starting over. I still very much feel this way.

Between the @wesleybryangolf / @bryanbrosgolf ban, @GrantHorvatGolf /#TheDuels situation & now @goodgood_golf - all of @YouTube golf needs to stay as far away from the @PGATOUR as possible. You don’t need them. THEY need YOU. Good lesson learned. The corporatocracy is fools gold.

“It’s been a real struggle with Nielsen, and these latest changes raise even more questions for us.” - NFL SVP of Data & Analytics, Paul Ballew. So maybe these metrics (aka “the source of the data) aren’t accurate? I win. Again. 😂
First at FOS: The NFL is not happy about Nielsen changing its methodology for the upcoming 2026–27 television season. The league told FOS that the changes, taking effect Aug. 31, are “overly rushed.”

🇺🇸 History lesson: - 1755, British American Colonies. - The French & Indian War is heating up (part of a larger 7 Years War) between 🇬🇧 & 🇫🇷. - After 🇬🇧 General Edward Braddock’s defeat on Pennsylvania’s western frontier, 🇬🇧settlers were under attack by 🇫🇷 forces & their Native American allies. 🇬🇧 Settlers were driven from their homes & killed in instances. - The Pennsylvania (PA) Assembly sought to raise money for defense by taxing land, including the estate of the Penn family, who mostly lived in England. - The Penn Family (who appointed the PA Governor) instructed the Governor to veto any bill that taxed their land. They preferred offering a one-time 💰 contribution for frontier defense - but ONLY if the PA Assembly conceded that it had no power to tax their estate. - Ben Franklin, member of the PA Assembly (and a future 🇺🇸 founding father), objected to this. In the Assembly’s response to the Governor, Ben wrote: “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” - The statement defended the PA Assembly’s right to raise revenue in the future for security through adequate taxation rather than accept a deal that would undercut its future power. - Franklin & the Assembly were refusing to trade lasting self-governance for a temporary safety. - The PA Assembly stood firm on this, didn’t back down, won out & the British Colonies eventually won the War. - 20 years later, Franklin would also use this concept as the crux of his argument for Colonial Rights against the British Crown that eventually led to 🇺🇸 declaring its independence from 🇬🇧. - It laid the foundation for the Bill of Rights that protects the freedom that Americans experience today. The rest is history. LESSON: There’s a push & a pull to freedom vs security. How much freedom are you willing to sacrifice for security? Is sacrificing long term freedom for short term security worth it? IMO, NO - because you never get that freedom back. Freedom is everything - but it is the more difficult path. If you willingly give away your freedom due to fear, you’re more likely to lose both your freedom & security in the process and you probably deserve neither - hence Ben Franklin’s famous quote. For me: “Give me Liberty or give me Death!” - Patrick Henry, 1775.

🇺🇸 History lesson: - The South thought they had won the American Civil War ~August 1864. - Northern casualties were mounting & the war was increasingly unpopular. - President Lincoln was secretly preparing for probable defeat & possible election loss. - One key was that victory for the South wasn’t as complex as the North. The South didn’t NEED to conquer the North to win. They just needed to defend their homes, hold their ground for long enough & wait. They proved they could do this for 4 years. Southern confidence was high in spite of being greatly out resourced. But the war was not over. - The South had 3 Achilles heels. #1 Pride/hubris. We still see evidence of this today. #2 Their entire economy/wealth was tied to 1 thing that the North wanted to abolish & incentivized defections to weaken it. #3 The South only had ONE great leader. The North had many great leaders that galvanized together. - This diverse leadership developed a new plan that was implemented by the North late in 1864. This changed the course of the war many thought was lost. - Northern morale was greatly improved by this strategy shift, the Southern economy was weakened & the trajectory of the war was flipped. Within 6 months the South was forced to negotiate surrender at Appomattox, April 9, 1865. Lesson: Propaganda can only go so far. In war, you can always use your enemy’s pride against them. When any party thinks the war is won, sometimes that’s when they’re most vulnerable. You can always change the course of any war with the right strategy. But strategy isn’t everything. If you lose the overall morale of the leaders, troops or populace, you cannot win. Yes, you’ll always have a few that quit when things get difficult - inevitable. But the right leaders + the right strategy + knowing your enemy’s weaknesses + galvanizing together is how wars are won. Also, if you don’t know history, you’re doomed to repeat it.

I’m going to say this again - said from the start - I’ve told players/agents/execs this. I’m always with the players exercising their right to do what they feel is best for them - like I did with Brooks/PReed. Whatever each LIV player decides to do, I will back them. They already made the difficult decision I wanted them to make because I wanted them to break the establishment - still do. Yasir had the chance to do it, but actively chose not to for reasons personal to him. And now LIV is slowly becoming part of the establishment, so the choices aren’t as seismic. Also we’re going to find out over the next 3-4 months which players are bought into doing something new & controlling their own destiny vs the players that just wanted a check. THAT will be interesting to follow too.

It is crazy how much pro golf & 🇺🇸 politics are intertwined at this point. It’s why anyone that has Trump Derangement Syndrome (particularly in the media) cannot be trusted with their golf reporting or analysis. Corrupts the mind. I’m sorry but it’s true. 🤷🏽‍♂️
