The older i get, the more i realize that someone making time for you is one of the clearest signs they care. Everyone is busy. Everyone has responsibilities & their own battles to fight. So when someone consistently chooses to spend their time with you, checks on you, & makes space for you in their life, it means something. time is one thing we can never get back, & people don't give it away lightly.

There might be no greater sign that humans are naturally monogamous or life long pair bonders than how badly men AND women are distressed (often destoyed) by breakups/divorces

A long-term relationship isn’t just quality time and weekend plans. It’s parents aging and passing away. It’s money worries, career changes, and unromantic conversations about mortgages and sometimes raising kids. Choose a partner who can show up to real life. And be that partner too.

So many relationship problems could be handled better if both people learned three essential skills.
First, learn how to communicate your feelings, thoughts, and needs honestly instead of expecting your partner to read your mind.
Second, learn to listen with the intention of understanding what the other person is experiencing, rather than preparing your defense while they’re speaking.
Third, understand that you cannot control another person’s choices or force them to give you what you want. What you can expect is honesty about how they feel, what they want, and what they’re willing to offer.
Healthy relationships require clear communication, genuine listening, and the willingness to accept the truth, even when it isn’t what you hoped to hear.

Feeling safe with someone is one of the most important foundations of a healthy relationship.
You can have attraction, chemistry, shared interests, and exciting conversations, but those things lose their meaning when you don’t feel safe around the person you’re with.
You need to feel physically safe, emotionally secure, and psychologically free to express yourself without constantly fearing humiliation, punishment, manipulation, or rejection.
Safety doesn’t mean you’ll never disagree or experience difficult moments. It means you can navigate those moments without feeling threatened or losing your sense of self.
Without safety, love becomes exhausting. With it, trust, intimacy, honesty, and genuine connection have room to grow.

Prepare yourself for love.
Work through your insecurities, jealousy, and tendency to avoid emotional closeness. Build a strong sense of self, understand your worth, and develop a life that gives you purpose beyond being someone’s partner.
Because falling in love and knowing how to build a healthy relationship are two very different things.
The butterflies are beautiful, but they don’t tell you everything you need to know. Real love begins to reveal itself when the excitement settles, everyday life takes over, and you discover whether you can communicate, handle conflict, take responsibility, and grow together.
Don’t just prepare to fall in love. Prepare to do the work that staying in love requires.

People don’t like hearing this, but lasting relationships require forgiveness. Your partner will make mistakes, disappoint you, and sometimes hurt your feelings. Neither of you will get everything right all the time. The important thing is learning to work through the difficult seasons together. You have to decide whether you’re willing to accept each other’s imperfections, take responsibility for your mistakes, and keep choosing the relationship through the ups and downs.

A relationship is a journey of personal growth, whether you’re prepared for it or not. You think you’re simply falling in love with someone, but along the way, you begin to discover parts of yourself you never truly understood your jealousy, insecurities, fear of abandonment, and even your fear of losing yourself. But that’s the beauty of love; it gives you the chance to confront those fears, heal old wounds, and break the patterns that keep you from experiencing the love you deserve. Sometimes, the right person doesn’t just make you feel loved; they inspire you to become a better version of yourself, not just for them, but for you too. ❤️🩹
