VIEW POINT: Ideology is about opinion and we are all entitled to our opinion, we are not entitled to force that opinion on another person by anything stronger than persuasive argument. If you have a strongly held opinion and if you force, coerce, bully and shame another person to accept that point of view you have crossed the line of decency, moderation and what constitutes fair and reasonable comment. If you still fail to get your way you may try bombarding weak governments to legislate in your favour. You may shamelessly call for inequality before the law elevating yourself and your baggage to become a protected category that places you beyond criticism. You may become expert at inveighing the government into supporting your bandwagon through ‘hate speech’ legislation, itself a pejorative term, so that an invisible line is drawn in the sand that people are afraid to cross in case they break some ill defined law. People will self censor and at that point they have won. At least they have won in a technical sense, they have closed down debate but they have alienated the broad tolerant majority who now feel gagged and cheated. I make a point of conversationally opening discussion about topics that people feel unable or fearful to discuss. There is usually no logical reason why people have these inhibitions. These are topics that need to be discussed respectfully but resolutely. So many people say ‘but you can’t say that’ to which I reply that I have just said that! But I have articulated my views respectfully, fearlessly and supported with evidence. I can stand over my opinions which I am happy to share. Try to silence me and you have made one big mistake. I am privileged to have contacts up and down our nation and I genuinely try to figure out where our nations mindset is positioned. One thing that I have noticed is fear. Not a logical fear, a fear of the unknown, a fear of not knowing what to say in case the thought police will pounce, in case a whispering campaign will be started against you, in case a phone call will be made to your manager that will leave him spooked. Ireland has no shortage of weak and feeble middle managers who don’t even know they are weak. I have been at the receiving end of much of this intimidation and I am still standing stronger than ever. I have learned that this largely inflated and invisible menace never compromises. You can’t meet them half way not that you should. These are all or nothing fanatics and they only understand their own medicine. The fine and theoretical points of democracy are meaningless to them. For them this is not a college debating society, it is ideological war. They have declared war on me, and all those like me who would dare oppose ideological totalitarianism. I have declared war on nobody, that is not in my nature but I am entitled to defend myself robustly, legally and to the limit of what is required to guarantee fairness. These fanatics know no limits until their limits are reached. They are not used to scrutiny or criticism. I have discovered that they crumble when confronted. They know that they do not have common sense on their side, they do not have the public on their side, they do not have science on their side and they certainly don’t have the wisdom of history on their side. But they have NGO’s on their side who are experts at shaming government and therefore are funded by government who they continue to shame and of course get more funds. You cannot buy these guys off - a weak and compromised government does not know or want to know that. They also have mainstream media on their side because with the collapse of readership they are more than ever dependent on government. But their greatest strength is discipline and organisation and normal citizens must acquire that skill. Keep talking, keep conversation open and let your opinion be known to all. The ground won’t swallow you, I know that from experience. Truth ultimately conquers. Veritas Omnia Vincit.

This is considered 'diverse' and 'inclusive' in the eyes of the hard left, the UN, the EU and most of the Irish political class. I wrote a detailed letter to @NormaFoleyTD1 and @CarrollJennifer and neither have replied nor have they made any public statement to show they oppose this.
