I think I am going to give up on recommending people do self custody after this. Last 3 days I've been helping a lot of ppl to take custody of their coins w/o me as "Uncle Jim." I didn't realize how little they all knew after all these years. Not many want to actually learn about this. Honestly I don't know what to recommend people do.
