Happy to announce our ❗recent OA publication❗ in @EcographyJourna, selected as Editor’s Choice! During our #historicalSWkelps surveys, we revisited 34 kelp forest sites to assess climate-driven shifts in kelp structure and distribution. vist.ly/55kj2
Resurveys of 34 sites along the coast of SW England combined historical data (1941–2016; 5–82 years prior) with contemporary surveys (2021–2023), enabling a robust comparisons of kelp forest change across a biogeographic transition zone in the NE Atlantic.
Already 2 weeks into the new year but nevermind 🫢. Reflecting on 2024 with exciting career development (finish of PhD & start of postdoc), change of research focus (exciting & frightening), moving across the world, friendship development & life decisions💫 Excited for 2025! 🌊🌱
Happy to announce that I finished my last training dives this week for #CAUS level I to carry out scientific #diving work in Canada!😊🤿🇨🇦🌊 Thanks for the awesome training by Fabiola Ruiz Aguilar pushing us to gain new skills, and for Ruth Arnold for being a great dive buddy!👌🏽 – at Vancouver, British Columbia
Excited to share that it's my 2nd week as a postdoc in Laura Parfrey's lab within the #SentinelsOfChange project with @UBCBotany in #Vancouver & @HakaiInstitute on #QuadraIsland in 🇨🇦😊. I'm investigating #kelp and their #microbiome under climate change conditions 🕵🏽♀️🌊🌱🦠🌡️

A whole year of record breaking ocean temperatures.
This warmth has significant effects on ocean ecosystems. A large fraction of the world’s human population rely on protein from the ocean to live. Disruption to life in the ocean does affect us all.
