Free Palestine, first and foremost. I totally get why people are upset about this. With it happening a third time, of course people are going to question it, and I'm not here to tell anyone how to feel.
Honestly, I didn't know anything about this band either until the timeline started talking about them, and I went ahead and blocked them everywhere myself.
At the same time, we need to be realistic about how people actually consume music. Most people simply don't run a background check every single time they come across a sound. I heard this track on TikTok just like millions of other people did, thought the melody was catchy, and moved on with my day. Almost nobody hears a ten-second audio clip and immediately pauses to look up the band's nationality, their Spotify bio, or their background.
Looking at π¦ situation, he's from LA. When a track is already trending over there and sitting right on Instagram's recommended audio picker, it makes total sense that it popped up for him. It doesn't mean he went out of his way to dig up this specific band, knew their politics, or wanted to send a message.
He probably just scrolled through the trending audio tab, liked how it sounded, and added it to his post.
That's likely all there is to it.
This is exactly where fan spaces get messy. There's a massive difference between expressing genuine discomfort, especially given the pattern, and turning every slip-up into an automatic gotcha moment where we project malicious intent onto someone.
I'm definitely not defending the band, and the larger context matters a lot. But using a trending audio on Instagram simply doesn't give us enough proof to declare what someone knew or what their intentions were.
Free Palestine, always. It's just crucial that we focus our energy on real issues instead of treating every careless algorithm interaction like an ideological stance, because otherwise we lose the plot entirely.

Yes I think this needs to be explained to new Carats just in case theyβre not aware. Pledis even planned to put this out as a merch before but Carats boycotted & requested for this not to be sold as merch in respect of the ringsβ significance to the boys. Letβs keep this THEIRS.
