I refer to light from below a subject as "monster lighting" when I teach our photography students...and in this case it certainly fits.

Three years after archiving Strobist.com as a completed project, I am happy to announce the publication of my new book, The Traveling Photographer’s Manifesto: A Guide to Connecting With People and Place.
On one level, the book seeks to do for traveling photographers what Strobist always aspired to do for lighting photographers: to make professional-level techniques more accessible to enthusiasts.
But unlike Strobist, The Traveling Photographer’s Manifesto is about more than just camera craft. Because your camera is more than just a recording device. It also can be a versatile tool for meeting people, unlocking new experiences, and enhancing your understanding of the world around you.
Which, in turn, is what leads to even better photos.
The Traveling Photographer’s Manifesto is available now in hardcover, paperback, and Kindle, on Amazon sites worldwide: amzn.to/4bA1MRb
I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
exact kind of thing you'd expect Marv to do!
