So, then SFUSD would be in the data center business 🤔
Exclusive: It was, perhaps, only a matter of time before the controversial industry seeking large swaths of available land looked longingly at San Francisco’s dead downtown mall, one of city’s most troubled pieces of procurable real estate. @sfchronicle shorturl.at/RZo9W

across the USA homeowners are asking why they can't be interred in their homes after death, accompanied by a ritually sacrificed doordasher and favorite appliances, the entire property set ablaze. "what 'gas lines'?" asks one "if i'm not alive, does the subdivision even exist?"
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

Carville may or may not have much sway with Dems these days, but many around here claim it is delusional to believe any Democrats harbor such notions…
James Carville says he'd rather have Republicans keep control of the House than Democrats winning the chamber by 5 seats. "I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five, because if that happens, they’re hostage to the DSA. Like, Hakeem cannot move. There’s no place for him to go."

Neera Tanden criticizing Ro Khanna for fighting for the billionaire tax is perfect. A complete admission of what’s actually going on here. A moment in which she has told on herself. Her and her faction speak for billionaires — and this is more proof of that.

The SF mayor is pushing a ballot measure that limits future ballot measures to only ones that tech money funds. It makes the threshold such that it costs millions to do. Presented as "democracy is confusing. you need to be protected from it." Probably going to pass, too.

Nonprofits for me but not for thee 😇
It's amazing that the SF mayor is trying to run a campaign against affordable housing, demonizing nonprofits. He has so many nonprofits. - Believe in SF: a His $30m personal PR fund - Downtown SF Partnership - Tipping Point - Civic Joy Fund

How much future? Abundant future, bro. We just need to ignore our current problems — environmental collapse, inequality, war — and allocate all resources to AI. Once we evolve past our human form “we” (a few billionaires’ consciousnesses) will live forever in the stars.

Anthropic helped weaken Scott Wiener’s AI bill. Now it wants to take that playbook to Washington. We need AI laws written to protect people. I won’t let the companies putting us at risk write their own rules. sfpublicpress.org/california…

The Phoenix Project provides the invaluable service of tracking the piles of cash oligarchs are dumping on local races and how their funded candidates fulfill their wishes.
Big money is flooding from Astroturf groups into San Francisco’s School Board race. Political pressure groups like GrowSF and Neighbors for a Better San Francisco have pledged six and seven figures to back candidates Phil Kim, Autumn Brown Garibay, and Tim Tung. 🧵

Chuck Schumer has yet to say a word in defense of Omar.
Me and Ilhan Omar are far apart policy wise. I’m pro life, she’s pro abortion. I’m pro 2A, she’s pro gun control. And on and on. But can someone tell me how pretending to get ready to deport Ilhan Omar is going to bring gas down under $2, make health insurance freaking affordable, make a family’s weekly grocery bill make sense, and stop sending our beloved military off to fight for another fucking foreign war??? People are so sick and tired of the bullshit. When you dumb mf’ers at the WH actually release the Epstein files and lock up the pedophiles and rapists you all hang out with, then we will start paying attention. Until then 🖕.

Everyone in San Francisco is a true blue, common sense Democrat — especially the super wealthy. Don’t you dare call them right wingers!
BREAKING🚨 Washington Post has leaked a private list of donors to Trump’s ballroom. On the list is SF crypto billionaire and political megadonor Chris Larsen’s company Ripple Labs with $5m, bringing Larsen’s total Trump donations to $9.9m. washingtonpost.com/investiga…

Also the two biggest funders of the Abundance movement, including $12.3m to CA YIMBY/YIMBY Action, $8m to Open NY (which runs Abundant NY) & $500k to the Abundance Network.
NEW — Two of the Democratic Party's biggest donors, Dustin Moskovitz and Cari Tuna, are back. They've donated $16 million to help the Democratic Party in the midterms. $8 million to Senate Majority PAC. And $8 million to Future Forward. Someone finally wrote about the Y Combinator mass-shooter-in-the-Tenderloin game. And bizarrely, they chose the Supervisor who is a former CTO of a Y Combinator company, whose election campaign was funded by a Y Combinator PAC, to be the voice of opposition to Y Combinator.
