Bloomberg reports that the EU is considering dropping its @wto case against China due to a "lack of evidence" that China's sudden halt in trade with Lithuania was retribution for supporting Taiwan. Dropping the case is a bad idea, but don't worry, it gets worse.🧵1/6

@floorter as you are from the Netherlands, do you know of any reports who are behind the DDoS attacks against Dutch institutions? I have read Dutch news, but not much insights.

The EU could involve Belgian king to extend sanctions against Russia if Hungary vetoes, says FT The EU may turn to King Philippe of Belgium to prevent €190 billion in Russian assets held in the Belgian depository Euroclear from being returned to Russia if Hungary vetoes the sanctions renewal, the Financial Times reports. Without the sanctions, these funds could "return to Russia the very next day." One proposed measure is invoking a 1944 military decree, granting the Belgian king the authority to block the transfer of assets from the country.

Tänasest ei saa kinnistusraamatusse päringuid teha nime ja isikukoodi järgi. Varem oli juhtumeid, kus ametniku otsusega mitte rahul olevad inimesed said teada tema elukoha ja käisid neid kodus häirimas. Lisaks jäävad ära päringud, mille eesmärk on ametnike elukohti kaardistada..

If the @EU_Commission uses @Microsoft.365 during a #Trump administration (that is extremely hostile towards the EU) and has full espionage access via #FISA702, they basically risk Trump reading every EU memo live. Thank God that @EU_EDPS keeps pushing! euractiv.com/section/tech/ne…

Solidly present in Twitter's "Top 30 Most Community Noted" with over 100 entries, Visegrad24 seems to be Musk's new favorite source of news for Europe. For those not yet aware of what a Visegrad is and does, I've prepared a short thread to help you get a taste of it.🧵

Will be very interesting how the EU will "hold up" against an interwoven block of a Trump government and Big Tech pandering to him. We can totally do it, but the EU needs to counter this politicized "tech oligarchy" with clear rules, strong procedures and clear enforcement.
