I'm not disputing that some departments have staffing issues, but your stats here are missing a lot of context. • LA's metro is 2x the size of Berlin's. • Los Angeles County Sheriff's department has more deputized officers than LAPD sharing jurisdiction and dividing duties. • Germany doesn't have "city police" the way we do in the US. this is well documented, suicides speak every year once the darkest time with the least sunlight hits and it is true that psychologically speaking seasonal affective and other mood disorders are a separate thing from depression, anxiety etc. I can cite my sources if needed lol
