Unpopular opinion. I disagree with the main point being raised by the protestors. The SIR may have influenced elections, but they would have won most elections anyway even without the SIR. "Vote chori" is a nonsequitur here. The real point of the SIR is to keep citizens in constant flux, just like demonetization. It is to demonstrate the power of the government over its citizens, especially those from minorities. Keep them scrambling from pillar to post or fear dire consequences. You dont know what could happen - bank account frozen, passport not renewed, police verification denied and even illegally being deported to Bangladesh without any due process (all these have already happened). SIR is NRC by another name. They have won and would have won elections without SIR too.

I feel so bad for my overworked BLO. She has school in the morning and SIR work all day. In between, she has to find time for family and hospital visits.
