Here is the side view of the CT scan I posted last week. From this viewpoint you can easily see the vias connecting the layers of the rigid-flex PCB.
I'm working on a write-up of the scan and will post it soon. The porosity in the solder joints is also interesting to see.
This reminded me to cancel my invoicing software subscription. I don’t use any of the online/tracking features anyway, so might as well just generate the PDF directly.
It’s not that I’m against giving money to someone, it made my life easier when I sent 5 invoices a month, but it’s down to a handful per year.
You can craft an invoicing app in 10 mins now.
Here it is in use.
I jumped on the bandwagon, and added a little feature!
A BLE "catprinter" for the kids' pocket money receipts, and the shopping list.
It also runs a screensaver that pulls from my Artwork project that uses public museum images, controls Sonos over Home Assistant, and let's the family know when I'm on a call.

I have discovered $50 amazon photo frames to be the PERFECT home display screen
They can be rooted, updated to run a modern browser, have WiFi and can be powered from USB
1280×800 resolution with a nice touch screen
I detailed how to hack these yourself in my latest video

Back in 2019 when the Cybertruck launched I had just joined Particle and one of my new colleagues was ex-Tesla, and the cracked windows caused a few crunge moments.
Different story this time!
(This is a cool stunt, but I have my doubts about any of this making it to production)

The touch bar has been turned into a standalone gadget, powered by an ESP32 microcontroller:
Inspired by the Aereagloris flash app that taught me to read Hangul 11 years ago, this was rebuilt.

I found it extremely easy to learn Hangul with this method, and can still read it 9 years after I needed it.
It’s been down since flash was killed and recently the entire site went offline.

a couple close guesses! This is a visual token for automatically calibrating the LumenPnP's nozzle position relative to the top camera. But why the grid? ⤵️
I'll have to do this to my QingPing too.
The world's going bonkers with no proprietary device safe any more! Custom firmware will become the standard soon!
