In response to ongoing protest across the county, Oyebisi B, Oluseyi, Executive Director of the Nigeria Network of NGOs, issued the following statement:
Good health, access to information and economic opportunity can determine whether individuals and communities thrive or are left behind. For Elizabeth G. Kojusola, these are not separate development options; they are interconnected pieces of the change she is working to create.
As Co-founder and Country Director of Celade Community Health and Empowerment Initiative (CCHEI), Elizabeth is committed to advancing community health, empowering young people and creating sustainable opportunities for vulnerable populations.
.
An alumna of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, where she studied Computer Science and Engineering and graduated in 2008, Elizabeth brings a passion for innovation and community development to her work in the nonprofit sector.
Since co-founding CCHEI in 2020, she has helped drive initiatives focused on adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (SRH), digital health literacy, education, climate sustainability and economic empowerment.
Through community outreach, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and innovative digital solutions, her work seeks to ensure that people have the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions and improve their quality of life.
.
With over five years of experience in nonprofit development and community empowerment, Elizabeth believes sustainable change must begin with people and the realities they face.
Her work involves engaging communities, supporting health and educational rights, and advocating for solutions that respond to local needs. At CCHEI, the goal goes beyond addressing immediate challenges to helping individuals build the skills, confidence and opportunities to shape their own futures.
Her commitment to networking, mentoring and knowledge-sharing further reflects her belief in people learning from one another and working towards shared goals.
.
For Elizabeth, development begins with equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills and education they need to create change.
She believes that integrating health, economic empowerment and climate sustainability is essential to building resilient communities where people can live with dignity and opportunity.
This Member Crush Monday, NNNGO celebrates Elizabeth G. Kojusola for her commitment to community-driven development and her work through CCHEI to advance healthier, more informed and empowered communities of Nigeria's North-Central.

According to Action Against Hunger USA - there is more than enough food produced in the world to feed everyone on the planet. Yet as many as 822 million people across the ๐ go hungry daily๐ญ
As the world marks World Food Day 2026, it is imperative to note the state of food crisis in the nation and the world at large.
With over 220 million people, Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa.
Conflict and insecurity, rising inflation and the impact of climate crisis - have all sadly continued to drive hunger in the country with a record of about 35 million Nigerians facing acute food insecurity in 2026, making it the highest level ever recorded in the country's history, cum another record from Global Hunger Index 2026, revealing Nigeria ranking 117th out of 122 countries, placing it in the "serious" hunger severity category ๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ญ
And what's worse is the significant displacement of farmers due to insecurity, as well as challenges in food production and distribution ๐ก๐ฅ๐ญ
These trends therefore call for urgent action from the government, private sector, and all important stakeholders to address the growing hunger crisis, as well as Initiatives that focus on sustainable agriculture, food assistance programs, and climate adaptation for them to rise to the occasion of reversing the unpalatable trend and ensuring that every Nigerian has access to sufficient and nutritious food.
On the commemoration of World Food Day, we must all prioritize efforts toward #foodsecurity and work together to combat #hunger in Nigeria and across globe.

For millions of people, hunger is more than an empty plate, and poverty is more than a lack of money. They are daily struggles that shape humans, limit opportunities, and could force families to make impossible choices.
Observed annually on October 16, World Food Day highlights the importance of access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food for eveveryone. While International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, marked every October 17, draws attention to the experiences of people living in poverty and the urgent need to address the structural barriers that keep millions from meeting their basic needs.
In commemoration of these two important Days, The InnerCity Mission is setting the table for impact.

When a girl spells a word, she is doing more than putting letters together. She is spelling out her possibilities, claiming her place in the world, and writing a future that no one should have the power to take away.
October is about the girl child. Her voice. Her rights. Her dreams. Her future. And what better way to celebrate her brilliance than to give her a stage where her confidence shines, her intellect speaks, and her potential takes centre stage?
This October, 16 schools will come together for the T1FF Spelling Bee Competition 2026, organised by the Twenty-One Five Child Foundation (T1FF) in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child.
Under the theme โEnd Child Marriage & Invest in Girlsโ Rights,โ this is a call to protect girlsโ childhoods, invest in their education, and create a world where every girl has the freedom to choose her future.
Date: October 14, 2026.
Venue: IACD, Jericho, Ibadan
Time: 10:00 AM
Sixteen schools. One champion. Countless possibilities.

For some children, a new school term means a fresh beginning. For some widows, a helping hand can mean one less burden to carry. And for a girl with ambition, one opportunity can change the direction of her future.
These are the moments that sit at the heart of the work of Amb. Evang. Mrs. Onyemachi Doreen.
Doreen Onyemachi holds a B.Sc. in Marketing, earned in 2010, and went on to become a Certified Shipping Practitioner and earned a Diploma from the Institute of Certified Sales Professionals in 2014.
In 2015, she further expanded her expertise with a Masterโs Degree in Transport Management (Shipping) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
Since 2014, Doreen has worked as Commercial Manager, Import at Hull Blyth Nigeria Limited, bringing years of professional experience and leadership into Brimminds Foundation,ย where she has spent the past six years supporting widows, children and the girlchild.
The Foundation has since supported hundreds of widows with food items, organised several widowsโ empowerment initiatives, and provided learning materials to over a hundred pupils in their yearly Back-to-School programmes.
In her usual fashion, Doreen Onyemachi advocates for the girl child where she calls for greater opportunities for girls in education, skills development and leadership, while highlighting the stigma and barriers they constantly face. In commemoration of International Day of the Girl Child, 2026, that commitment continues - with Brimminds Foundation taking its girl-child advocacy a step further through an AI-focused programme designed to equip girls with knowledge and digital skills for their now and their. future.
For Doreen, creating opportunity is not a one-day conversation, it is a continuous commitment to ensuring every girl has the chance to learn, lead and become all she is can be.
At the centre of Doreenโs work is the belief in equal opportunity, dignity and protection under the law. A philosophy that connects every part of her journey - from professional input to humanitarian service, including supporting widows and their children, and creating unique opportunities for the girlchild.
An amazing wife and a proud mother, when Amb. Evang. Mrs. Onyemachi Doreen is not navigating the demands of the shipping and import industry, she's busy giving her selfless service to the underserved across Amowo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Saturday, October 10th was #MentalHealthDay. Access to mental health services remains unequal, with about 80% of people with mental health disorders in low- and middle-income countries unable to access the care they need a deeply troubling reality.
Yesterday, Sunday, October 11th, we marked the #InternationalDayoftheGirlChild, another important day dedicated to advancing the rights, wellbeing and potentials of girls around the world.
These two observances may be different, but they are deeply connected. Today, more girls are navigating challenges that can have consequences on their physical and mental wellbeing - from menstrual health challenges and low self-esteem to abuse and molestation, trafficking, FGM, limited access to education and child marriage.
The girl child is not just facing one challenge. She is often carrying many, and too often, her struggles remain unseen, unheard and unaddressed.
With this year's theme, โEnd child marriage and invest in girls' rights,โ the world cannot claim to be investing in girls while allowing the conditions that limit their choices, silence their voices and threaten their wellbeing to persist.
Ending child marriage means protecting girls' futures. Investing in girls' rights means investing in their education, health, safety, mental wellbeing, dignity and ability to make decisions about their own lives.
Every girl deserves more than survival. She deserves the opportunity to being.
The work must therefore go beyond International Days. It must be a daily commitment - from families and communities to governments, civil society organisations and everyone to - Protect her. Listen to her. Invest in her. And let her future be hers to choose.
And it is upon this bid, Jewels Network invites the public to join her - LET HER BE A GIRL webinar, themed โProtecting Her Childhood. Investing in Her Future.โ

From Board Governance Week to Global Accountability Week, itโs been a week of conversations, learning, shared experiences and, most importantly, ๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก!
We explored what it takes to build stronger boards, champion accountability and strengthen civil society organisations.
But hereโs the thing: good governance cannot be a once-a-year conversation, and accountability cannot end with a campaign.
The real work begins when the week ends. When lessons become practice. When commitments become action. When accountability becomes part of how we lead, serve and deliver impact.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, shared, learned and took action with us. ๐ช

Great organisations need more than a great mission. They need strong governance, strategic leadership and the right people around the table.

The Nigeria Network of NGOs joined civil society organisations across the world for the Global Accountability Week (GAW) 2026, held from October 5โ9, 2026, in a week-long push to strengthen accountability, transparency and legitimacy across the civil society sector.
As part of the global week of action, NNNGO hosted 12 civil society organisations from across the world, bringing together participants from Mexico, Spain, Kenya, Chile, Togo, Ghana and ofcourse Nigeria to exchange experiences, share lessons and explore practical approaches to strengthening accountability within the Third Sector.
The engagement provided a platform for CSOs working across different contexts to reflect on what meaningful accountability looks like in practice, while sharing approaches/methods that can help organisations build greater trust, transparency and effectiveness.
Global Accountability Week is a worldwide campaign dedicated to strengthening dynamic accountability across civil society organisations. Launched in 2017 as an awareness initiative, the campaign has grown into a vibrant global movement led by @CIVICUSalliance and supported by networks including the AGNA and the Global Standard for CSO Accountability.
GAW brings together civil society organisations of different sizes and contexts from national networks and associations to grassroots organisations to share good practices, lessons learned and creative approaches to strengthening accountability.
The 2026 Week of Action also highlighted an important message: accountability is not only possible in challenging environments, but is essential to building credible, resilient and trusted civil society organisations.
Through its participation, NNNGO continues to support opportunities for Nigerian and global CSOs to learn from one another and advance stronger standards of accountability across the sector.
