We are going to go at least 10x bigger next year, now is the perfect time to join.
Massive growth opp too:
@VirtualElena joined as a writer, now she runs our podcast ecosystem.
ET hired me to “work on portfolio services and ecosystem”. Now I run our portco services division.
@samkkaufman started as an intern, now he leads all our socials.
I'm hiring a Chief of Staff to help me run all our initiatives at the intersection of investing, networks, and media. Senior role with a big impact.
Email [email protected] with a cosign and some ideas for what we can do better and how precisely you'd help.
This role has been open for so long because anyone I could have hired for the role ended up being hired to lead a division or new initiative instead.
All roles below are also still available.
This year we incubated a media company, a school, and a professional network—on top of all the work we do for our companies and for the firm. We're now planning what big projects to take on next year. Get on the ground floor with us...

In this episode of First Principles, we'll learn about asteroids, the telescopes that find them, and the satellites that protect us against them.
✧
In 2004, astronomers discovered a new, 60-million-ton asteroid hurtling towards Earth.
They scrambled the world's best telescopes, traced its path in the sky as accurately as they could, and concluded that the asteroid, 99942 Apophis, had a 2.7% chance of causing "regional devastation" here on Earth.
Today, that estimate has been revised down. We now know that Apophis will make its closest pass on Friday, April 13th, 2029, missing Earth but only just barely: the asteroid will pass closer than satellites in geostationary orbit, and will be visible to the naked eye.
Exactly how we know that — and what we would do if we determined an asteroid really *was* heading our way — is the focus of today's episode.
In this episode, we'll visit the telescope that discovered Pluto, one of the biggest optical reflecting telescopes in the world, and the factory floor of @AstroForge, a company building satellites for asteroid mining and planetary defense.
Special thanks to @MattGialich, whose connections to Lowell Observatory made this episode possible — and whose meteorite collection is the envy of space nerds everywhere.

It’s no secret that I’m bullish on Florida as a federalist project that’s attracting capital and businesses from across the country. It’s an extraordinary place to live and build.
West Palm Beach is the epitome of this kind of growth—and Stephen Ross and team are building a truly dynamic city and ecosystem. It’s been an incredible story of growth in America and we’re excited to become a larger part of it.
The American Dynamism team at @a16z is excited to open our West Palm Beach office.
It's time to Build 🌴🇺🇸🚀
Exclusive: Andreessen Horowitz is the latest venture-capital firm to open a new office in Florida to invest in startup defense companies on.wsj.com/3UGyUmI
We're thrilled to invest in Covenant, emerging from stealth after raising $250M.
The West’s long-range strike capabilities cost too much to field in quantities a real conflict can demand.
@HQ_Covenant's answer is Anthem – a low-cost, long-range, heavy-payload missile designed to be manufactured at scale. Already, Anthem has flown 250+ test flights since August 2025, with government customers under contract and production lines going up in Dallas and Germany.
We’re excited to partner with @KaufmanMic, Abby Denburg, and the entire Covenant team as they make long-range defense affordable.
Today, Covenant is emerging from stealth and introducing Anthem: a heavy-payload deep precision strike capability designed for mass production, with deliveries beginning in the thousands in 2027.
We’ve raised $250 million, flown Anthem in more than 200 tests, and secured approximately $150 million in orders, including contracts with the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and key international allies.
We’re building Anthem at our 105,000-square-foot production facility in Dallas, alongside factories in Germany and Israel.
Covenant is backed by @a16z, @foundersfund, @Lux_Capital, @lightspeedvp, @8vc, @aleph, and @AltimeterCap.
Deep precision strike is the biggest gap in the arsenal of the West, and we spent the last two years building Anthem to fill it.
Now we deliver at scale.

Absolutely amazing launch of a company that has been heads down building over the last two years. It’s not every day you unveil a new missile that is flying, tested, has factory footprint and already inked USG customers. @KaufmanMic and the Covenant team are incredible 🚀🇺🇸

When I met @KaufmanMic years ago (through my wife @claremobrien) two things were clear.
1) Michael is dedicating his life to a relentless pursuit of “truth” and “goodness”
And
2) He was deeply committed to the safety and security of the west
Many years later those two things have come together as Covenant. Alongside Ofir, Abby and others, Covenant has been quietly building Anthem. Congrats on entering the open!

Danny Penny has been a quiet, invaluable partner to American Dynamism founders since he joined our investment team a year and a half ago. And when Danny speaks, we listen. It’s always important and thoughtful.
This is why American Dynamism and building for Americans matters. Proud to call Danny my partner.

After approx. 24 days at sea, the SpaceX Recovery team successfully guided Starship to a location just off the coast of Christmas Island. A team of SpaceX engineers is on their way to conduct additional analysis on the vehicle in calmer waters before attempting to return it to Starbase

We are launching Uplift, backed by a $7M seed led by @a16z.
We build homes the way cars are built: on a production line.
250 years ago Adam Smith wrote that lodging couldn't travel. A coat is made in one place and worn in another. A home never has. He was right for 250 years. We intend to prove him wrong.
My co-founder @trevoroleary and I built at SpaceX and Tesla. We're applying the same playbook used for Starlink and Cybercab to housing: design for manufacturing, ship volume, drive cost down with each version.
Over the next 3 months we'll deploy our first homes and scale toward a production rate that could rival the largest car companies in the world. Enough volume to house thousands, then millions per year. Enough to move rent.
We are hiring engineers. We are taking orders.

At Radiant we ask ourselves a lot of questions, like what does it mean to move Beyond Prosperity?
Thank you @a16z and @bnslevin for capturing our teams work so beautifully.
Radiant: Beyond Prosperity
Mass-produced microreactors mean nuclear power anywhere. Behind the supermarket, on a military base, and eventually beyond the star we were born at. Radiant is building them.
