My grandfather, Yousef Khoshkish, was the last Governor of the Central Bank in Iran before the Islamic Revolution. He was executed by Khomeini’s regime 44 years ago, today.
Every day, especially today, I think of his legacy serving Iran. Before his time at the Central Bank, he served as the head of Bank Melli for 17 years, where he turned a struggling institution into one of the nation's pillars.
Despite talks of needing to close branches and lay off employees, under my grandfather’s leadership, Bank Melli grew from 180 to 1,800 branches, becoming the 60th largest bank in the world, while ensuring no employees lost their jobs or benefits. That legacy was what he worked and died for.
My grandfather's story taught me at a very young age what it meant to love and serve the Iranian people, no matter what. He will always be remembered as a true and selfless patriot ❤️

On Cyrus the Great Day, we honor a civilization that birthed the first-ever charter of human rights, rooted in freedom and justice.
For over 2,500 years, that legacy has endured through the Iranian people. Iran's identity did not begin with the Islamic Republic, nor will it end with it.

The regime’s judiciary is drafting a law to criminalize “insulting” the Islamic Republic’s flag.
Yet the Iranian people continue to risk their lives to raise the Lion and Sun, refusing to allow this regime to erase Iran’s identity.
Anyways, yesterday the Islamic Republic murdered another innocent man, mountaineer and musician Ali-Sina Mostafavi, for wanting freedom for Iran.
23-year-old Najmeh Amini, only two years younger than me, is facing imminent execution over a social media post.
Where was this outrage when their employees were being interviewed by regime outlets? Why didn’t they confront them?
“HEGSETH, YOU’RE NOT A WARRIOR! YOU’RE A COWARD!”
Today, Iranian Americans, including NIAC Communications Manager @BellaJavidan, confronted Secretary of War Pete Hegseth at a massive gathering of military officials and defense contractors showcasing the latest weapons of war.
While weapons manufacturers gather to profit from death and destruction, Iranian Americans are demanding an end to the war and accountability for the civilians killed by the very weapons being bought and sold in these halls.

Her life is in danger.

Say Najmeh's name.

this happens in Iran almost every single day.
countless Iranians have been executed for speaking out against the regime, charged with this exact thing.
why are accounts like @PopBase silent when it comes to Iranian lives and the Islamic Republic's crimes against humanity?

Another of Iran's bravest executed by the Islamic Republic.
This morning, the regime murdered mountaineer and musician Ali-Sina Mostafavi on a false charge of "waging war against Allah."
This is the reality of life under the Islamic Republic occupying Iran. They will not stop massacring freedom-loving Iranians.
Today, Amnesty once again sounded the alarm on the regime's executions of innocent protesters. Five in one week.
Meanwhile, NIAC is engaging in marches that proudly fly the regime's flag. The one the Iranian people were killed for rejecting.
I'd like to know when their march for victims of the regime will be held.
One post about executions that acknowledges and legitimizes the charges the regime puts on these protesters doesn't count. Especially when your employees downplay the regime's use of the death penalty by conflating it with the United States.

Iran executed two men over January’s protests in Isfahan last Monday. One of them, 25-year-old Alireza Sepahi, was hanged a day after he married his fiancée inside prison. His bride, Mahshad Kashani, had herself been arrested and jailed for five years. The second, Alireza Raisi, 21, was his family’s only son, detained days after he buried a cousin killed in the same protests. Iran has executed nearly two people a week in political and security cases since the January protests, an Iran International review of cases shows.

Iran uses the death penalty to silence its people and has by far the world’s highest execution rate per capita, UN experts said Friday, calling for an immediate halt to executions.
They said Iranian law still allows the death penalty for consensual same-sex relations and for some religious offenses, including apostasy.
“Iran’s death penalty is used to silence dissent, with broadly defined national security offences recasting peaceful activity as a threat,” the experts said.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Iran on Thursday of killing wounded protesters in hospitals and, in some cases, doctors and nurses who treated them.
“The Iranian regime goes into hospitals when protesters are injured and murders the people there, and sometimes murders the doctors and the nurses who treated them,” Rubio said during a visit to Lisbon.
