Bit of a milestone here. Tuatara genome (~5 GBp) is now up on Ensembl. This is a resource developed in partnership with Ngatiwai iwi, with assistance from a large global team of researchers. Lots of insights emerging and the main paper isn’t too far away now. – at Dunedin City, New Zealand
The latest release of Ensembl includes 9 new species: #redfox, #koala, #polarbear, #blackbear, #dingo, #donkey, #paintedturtle, #tuatara and #Agassizsdeserttortoise as well as updated #genome assemblies for #cow, #chicken and #horse. Phew!

This is great. And should always be included. But... it really drills home the common approach nowadays: “lets try 100 random structures and pick the only one that improved our metric.”
A huge fan of putting this in papers (from the BigGAN paper openreview.net/pdf?id=B1xsqj…)

My command-line bootcamp is used by hundreds of universities and teachers - but it has no funding. My digital ocean account is currently locked.
Looking for someone who benefits from it to sponsor by providing a digital ocean droplet for the backend.
