Hi, @NikoliaA, βm part of a small open-source team in the @dat_ecosystem and we work on tooling for communication and data sharing without accounts and servers. We are interested in helping journalists, specially those working under censorship and opressive regimes.
What do you think, who from @gijn would be best to talk to about what tools are journalists in your network using, what is missing and how could open source developers and activist in my network help them?
Thank you very much in advance βοΈ

Stop being naive when it comes to things like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, etc.
It is time for peer to peer. No servers, messages travel from one to another device (similar to Torrents)

I've added the first few projects to The commons library. It's the first draft and I'll be updating them, but just wanted to document them and push the first iterration out
So far we have:
- Little Free Library
- Thingery
- Swap and Play
- Repair Cafe

After spending a month in Portland, OR I got so inspired by amazingly creative social projects that bring neighbors and local communities together that I decided to start collecting these ideas.

My wish is to document them in such a way that they can be really easily replicable in any community.
Here's the repo where I will work on it. github.com/ninabreznik/The-Cβ¦

In retrospect of the @npmjs attack yesterday, its clear to me the following should be top priority for the worlds biggest package manager
1. Normal team flows for public packages. The current βmanage each package individually and every is an adminβ flow is creating these situations
2. We need an official npm app to accept invites vs the email link flows which is phishing hell
3. Multisig 2FA for releases. If i release a popular package Iβd want a quorum of owners to approve said release.
This is massive. Not just for treating this particular disease but for showing this technology of treating genetic diseases provably works β€οΈβπ©Ήyoutube.com/watch?v=bhExSMZtβ¦
Baby is soon turning one and I am happy I can work slighly more, but how do we do this? I am not sure if I want her in the nursery already and I love spending time with hee. Can she just start coding and join the team soon? π

And in some other jobs people are litterally killing themselves to be able to pay the rent. Gov jobs and monopolies of any kind are a scam.
