Flexed my animation muscles for 4 hours this week, slow progress, but progress

I’m speaking up now o😔

I’m glad I was in the room yesterday at #RaenestExchange2026 as a freelance video editor, two sessions in particular gave me a lot to think about. the first was the panel on freelancing, where I learnt that it’s ok to be a generalist before becoming a specialist. I’ve been exploring different aspects of video editing and content creation while keeping my options open to different roles. At some point I started wondering if I was doing too much or if I needed to pick one thing and stick to it. but that session reminded me that I can explore, build my skills, discover what I enjoy and excel at, and then intentionally narrow down to a specialty. the second was the session with @remoteworkher particularly the conversation around overcoming the fear of interviews. I know I’m capable of so much more than I sometimes give myself a credit for, but interviews can feel overwhelming. one thing I took away is to see interviews as conversations, not interrogations. sometimes growth isn’t only about getting better at what we do. It’s also about learning to navigate the opportunities that come with it. Big thank you to @RaenestApp for creating a space for these conversations. I’m glad I got to be a part of it.
