Iran hatte übrigens mal eine demokratisch gewählte Regierung. Mohammad Mossadegh wurde schließlich unter Beteiligung von CIA und MI6 in einem Putsch gestürzt, weil er den iranischen staatlichen Anteil an den Gewinnen der Anglo-Iranian Oil Company erhöhen wollte.
Die Mullahs sind heute an der Macht, weil das Marionettenregime des Schahs keine Unterstützung in der Bevölkerung hatte. Soviel dazu dass es dem Westen um Freiheit und Demokratie ginge.

Habe mir gerade unterwegs von Mitte zu einem Termin in Kreuzberg die GESAMTE Pressekonferenz Trump/Zelensky anhören können. Grund war die marode U8, Ersatzverkehr und Viertelstündige Taktlücken, und ich empfehle jedem das zu tun: Trumps ehrlicher Wunsch nach Frieden wird glasklar, Zelenskys abscheuliche Gleichgültigkeit über wöchentlich 1000-2000 TOTE AUF BEIDEN SEITEN, STERBENDE, während sie reden, ist barbarisch. Und der deutsche Mainstream, der Trump und Vance hierzulande kritisiert, ist mindestens ebenso moralisch völlig verrottet, Mitschuld am sinnlosen Sterben.

Here is the full 50-minute conversation between President Trump and President Zelensky.
There are a lot of politicians claiming Zelensky was "ambushed."
There was a full 40 minutes of dialogue before the "fireworks" started.
The president insisted throughout the first 40 minutes that he was focused on peace.
Zelensky responded by strongly pushing back on a ceasefire with Russia and demanded that Putin pay for the entire war.
JD Vance jumps in at the 40-minute mark to clarify the difference between Trump and Biden and their approach to the war.
This apparently ticked off Zelensky which is when the fireworks started.

Zelensky managed to lie 3 times within a minute in the Oval Office.
Lie one.
Russian troops didn't cross the border until 2022, it was Kiev that began the War by assaulting their own people in 2014. In addition, Only 2 civilians died in the Russian operation to secure Crimea, the vast majority of Crimeans welcomed the Russians, which they had been part of up until 1954 and had voted to join previously.
Lie two
It was the Ukrainain Army that began shelling and bombing Donbass people's militias in 2014. The Russian army didn't intervene. There were zero Russian troops on the ground in Ukriane until 2022
Lie Three
Zelensky says "he signed a deal with Macron and Merkel in 2019, François Hollande later agreed (as did Merkel) the deal signed was to allow Ukraine to rebuild its army to face Russia in a larger war. Russia didn't break the deal. Ukraine did. Repeatedly according to the OSCE data, their bombardment of Eastern Ukriane increased hugely just prior to Russias intervention in 2022.
