Arrival ✅ i like how it explores a different take on alien contact rather than the usual troupe really cool how the premise focused quite heavily on communication loved how it explores stuff like language, time and human connection good eats 9/10

The Prestige ✅ the rivalry between robert and alfred spiralling into an obsession with outdoing each other was incredible the narrative is so cleverly constructed, and the payoff is insane obsession, sacrifice and deception. absolute cinema, nolan never disappoints 9/10

Will ✅ such a beautiful film ngl😭❤️ the 2005 UCL final in Istanbul is probably the greatest comeback in football, almost mythical, and being a Liverpool supporter made this movie even better so glad that Will was able to make it at the end You'll Never Walk Alone ❤️ 10/10

Salem definitely felt more like a thematic/character chapter than a plot heavy one. There were definitely parts where the pacing dragged and that was pretty much why i had it on hold for so long. But the actual ideas underneath it all were really interesting, especially the

whole concept of reality, identity, faith, and what makes a person 'real', and Outer Gods I mean who doesn't love some Outer Gods ong

Salem really felt like a setup for the Outer God plot progression later down the story, and it honestly did that quite well Really good stuff overall, average Nasuverse story cuh

The entire Outer God/Foreigner stuff is so interesting given what's happened in progression to the Lostbelts. Sanson's role was also quite good, with the whole executioner theme and the way Salem's judicial system basically turns executions into part of the ritual.

Robin being the one to ultimately put down Raum was pretty fitting for his character too tbh. Mata Hari's section was cool asw, and I liked how the chapter kept playing around with the idea of everyone being actors following a script

Their entire dynamic becomes so much more tragic after the realisation about where everything is heading. And Lavinia in general was such an interesting character, given her connection to the Whateleys and the whole Sut-Typhon/Yog-Sothoth stuff

Raum was a pretty interesting antagonist too, especially with the whole Carter reveal. The fact that the 'Carter' we've been following was actually Raum possessing his body was a really cool reveal, and then having the actual Carter show up afterwards was just unreal

The whole concept of the Six Knots and Abigail being gradually pushed towards becoming the vessel for an Outer God (that too Yog-Sothoth) was pretty damn cool, and the Lovecraftian elements were so so cool

The characters were probably the strongest part of this for me; Abigail and Lavinia's relationship was really well done, especially after realising that Lavinia herself was essentially created and placed into Salem just to become Abigail's friend
