People laughed at Barcelona for signing Gabriel Jesus, calling him a finished player who was nowhere near his best. He’s proving them wrong, one game at a time. Today, he scored a goal and had another ruled out for offside.
But his contribution goes far beyond goals. His work rate and defensive commitment are incredible. I’ve seen him covering as a left back, right back, midfielder and winger, always whenever someone is out of position. He runs back, presses and fights to win the ball as if everything depends on it.
His link up play is also impressive. The way he creates space for Lamine Yamal to attack in behind and helps Gordon and Adeyemi find room to operate shows how much he brings to this team.
Gabriel Jesus isn’t just scoring goals. He’s sacrificing himself for the team and making everyone around him better.
