The fact that they are calling this the African Grand Prix, probably means it's unlikely they'll have another Grand Prix here. South Africa probably not happening then?
Africa, we’re back. 🌍
From the early 2030s, the African Grand Prix will join the calendar and take place in Bugesera, Rwanda 🇷🇼

Love this!
Reminds me of one my fav thought experiments: Veil of Ignorance. When making legislation/rules/laws for a society, imagine that you can't know your own race/gender/ability etc before being born into this society. What would you do to make it fair for you & others?
Whoa- this is the most fantastic pedagogical tool I’ve encountered in as long as I can remember (which is a helluva high bar, considering who I live with).
I’m so excited to have my 6yo play with it! And you all should too.

HanziCraft has reached $1k in revenue!
Love working on this project. Learning so much. Toggling between designer, coder, learner, product manager, creator, marketing, growth & customer support is exactly my jam.

I love this so much. Makes me wonder what other screen-free tech there is to build.
I gave my kids a way to chat with their grandparents via WhatsApp.
But without screens!
This box lives in their bedroom, they press the massive blue button to record a voice message, and the message is sent to a group with both grandparents.
It’s two-way so when the grandparents send a message back, there’s a ringtone (that we chose together) and the kids run to their room to listen.
The grandparents even get a “listened” notification with a small headphones WhatsApp reaction.
When the kids are away or asleep, the messages queue until their return.
There are obviously quiet hours at night.
My son and I built this over the past few weeks, iterating on the UX.
The kids and grandparents absolutely love it!
I love that they are in direct contact without me in the middle and without screens.
I wrote about reviving HanziCraft and growing it into a product.
Love being a student again and so happy to get stuck into building something that gets used by thousands of learners a month.

Running an experiment for two months @indieniel.
Where I document building & growing my apps. Love reading & following everyone's progress here, thought I'd give it a try.
Follow along if you're interested.
The Sagrada Familia is one the most impressive breathtaking things I’ve ever seen in my life. Can’t wait to go back one day.
So wild that I eventually circle back to linguistics/language learning after more than a decade. Here I am reading optimal Chinese character learning algorithms on a Wednesday morning.
Sparks a lot of joy.
These are the first three screenshots. Sometimes you think you're being clever, but then just waste your time. So funny. Big lesson in here. Hopefully these numbers hold with more data.
Can't stop laughing. I saw somewhere on reddit recently that someone made their App Store screenshots way more simple. Like two words, HUGE BOLD, at the top of every screenshot. I'm running an experiment with that now for Stacking, and the first results are starting to come in.
So here's a questions for the founders/growth people. HanziCraft has a fascinating funnel:
Total visitors (98% SEO driven) -> Register Page visits: ~1.8%
Register Page -> Registered User: ~48%
Registered User -> Upgrade: ~5.5%
The hardest part of being an indie dev these days, is realizing that just building it doesn't matter that much anymore. You have to learn marketing & distribution. It's been a fun challenge to expand this skillset.
Not me in 2026 checking to see what’s happening on LinkedIn these days and actually liking the content.
