Interview with Manager Adam Hopkins regarding the Balham V Sandhurst Town game: We are here with Sandhurst Town Manager Adam Hopkins. Another win beating 5th place Balham! Can you talk us through the game? The result says it all, another great performance from the lads and the management team. We did our homework on this one and the players did exactly what was asked of them. The management team and I are delighted. I believe the first half for both teams wasn’t great. We both cancelled each other out, but we had a moment of class from Amari Fashanu that put us 1-0 up. We went in at half time with the lead. A few changes were made not in personnel but tactically. And for the second half well, there was only one team in it and I felt we as a team raised our game. Once the second goal went in the game was won and the third goal just sealed a superb display and the victory! Balham came close a couple of times in the last five minutes, did that worry you at all? When playing a team that’s in top five and pushing for playoffs etc and a team that have been playing so well like Balham of course they will have chances. But we have a great back line and a great keeper. To be honest, we don’t concede that many. It is something we addressed when coming into the club. The boys are a true credit to the club, they all are 100% dedicated and put their bodies on the line for the cause. Can I add I really hope Balham makes the playoffs they deserve it. I for one love clubs like Balham they are what step 5 football (non league) is all about like us at sandhurst. They don’t play for money they play for the love of the club and that is something that needs to be applauded a true community based team. Up next is another tough one Croydon at home. What can we expect? Croydon are a great team with some great players, I mean they have pulled off some incredible signings and are another side that is in the playoff chase. I’m sure they will be coming here with a game plan and it’s our job to try to disrupt that. We just need to believe and play our football. But yes, it will be a tough game for sure. But the more support the lads get, the better so please come down and support the lads.
