Unfortunately we got the tragic news that a good friend of mine, Kian Broadhead, sadly passed away on Sunday. He was a huge Liverpool fan and was meant to go to the derby on Saturday, as a present for his little brother Charlie, pictured below. Hoping to arrange a minute… 1/2
This is how every player, from any sport, should retire after there last game 👏🏼

City didn’t beat Arsenal once in 3 attempts this season. When they came to the Emirates they had 4 shots in the whole game, did they lack mentality then or just come to play for a draw? See how easy it is to create narratives like this that don’t tell the whole story

On a rare sunny December day and in front of a bumper crowd, @PeelAFC kicked off the Plum Properties Railway Cup Final against @AyreFc, and things got interesting after just two minutes with a long throw from Shaun Kelly, but it missed Johnny Shields for Ayre. Two minutes later down the other end, Tom Shimmin was breaking down the right, and though his cross was deflected for a corner, it hinted at the action to come.
Ayre went on the attack again, this time Shaun Kelly's header inside the 6-yard box was met with a top-notch save by Owen Dawson.
The game then saw a bit of a slowdown, with Izzy Dunne playing disruptor in midfield for Peel. Then, a foul by Pickering in the 22nd minute set up a free-kick 30 yards out. Harry Best's delivery to the back post found Jamie Callister, but his header was cleared, keeping the score level.
There was nervy moment in the twenty-ninth minute, as Dawson fumbled a failed save twice but managed to grab it on the third attempt. Ayre's clever play at the 39th minute, from Shields to Danny Oram on the right, resulted in a shot that Dawson saved brilliantly and minutes later, Kelly then latched onto a wonderful long ball and his toe poked effort from 10 yards, hit the woodwork!
Just when things seemed settled, added time in the first half delivered the game-changer. Jamie Callister rose highest to meet a free-kick from the corner spot, and his header found the back of the net, giving Ayre a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half started with Ayre pressing on. A long Kelly throw in the fifty first minute set up Oram's headed goal, making it 2-0. Peel, though, showed they weren't backing down. Three minutes later, a lovely Lee Gale, outside of the foot pass, was met by Aaron Costain's head, pulling one back for Peel.
Ayre responded almost immediately. Oram broke free and his shot in the 59th minute hit the post but ended up in the net, making it 3-1. Peel, not to be outdone, rallied to get back into the game. A slick move saw Matthew Woods’s ball from the right hand side find an unmarked Lee Gale at the back post and he wrapped his foot around it to give the westerners a glimmer of hope with 15 minutes to go.
Peel threw everything into trying to level, but Ayre's defence held firm. Nathan Teare's save from Lee Gale's free-kick, 3 minutes into added time, added some last-minute drama. Peel's final chance came in the 96th minute and saw Costain's sliding effort go agonisingly wide.
With the final whistle, Ayre secured a hard-fought 3-2 win in the Plum Properties Railway Cup. Ayre Captain, Jamie Callister was named man of the match.
