Hi @lucyfrazermp, I'm your constituent, horrified by the killing of thousands of civilians in Gaza. As the death toll continues to rise, we urgently need a ceasefire. Will you back the amendment? #CeasefireNow

Happy birthday to the realest ever to do it, who would say things in casual conversation braver than what you're willing to say privately in your own head, Amiri Baraka Here he explains the why bourgeois society is dehumanizing and actively sanctions counterfeit dilute 'art'

A few things we can do as educators in face of rising fascism: - Promote difference over uniformity - Resist the reduction of education to instrumentalism - Accept the world as complex and uncertain - Encourage critical thinking and challenging of accepted norms and practices

Offering gratitude to these gnarled & knotty roots & stumps & the lessons they gave me today on persistence, taking a different tack & remembering just how much I missed messing about in the muck. Working the soil is soul food for sure #slowlyslowly

Can we please stop calling mental illness trendy? No one, I repeat, no one wants to have a mental illness or disability for this matter What people want is an answer to WHY things are happening to them which causes them distress in their everyday life Stop being an asshole

It's exhausting being smart and also having ADHD. It's like a constant internal battle — curiosity & introspection vs. executive dysfunction I would be able to learn and do so much more if I weren't my own worst enemy.

The weirdest thing about #adhd is that you can tell people you have it and they sort of SEEM to understand, and then later are surprised and upset when you do all the things that a person with ADHD would do. Like bro what did you think I meant when I said I had ADHD?

SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER on #AMIGA500 (1994) Sensible Soccer sequel, adds a football manager mode and world teams data. Ranked best of all time by Amiga Power mag. People kept the Amiga around because of this game even after moving to newer systems. #AmigaRetweets #pixelart #2D

FYI... Autistic people tend to think in complexities. Someone can ask us to do something seemingly straightforward, but our brains will often make it into something extremely complex and nuanced. We ask questions to untangle our thoughts.

And suddenly, us undiagnosed neurodivergent adults are realizing that there is a reason for our struggles. That they are not our fault. And that WE ARE NOT ALONE. And there is literally nothing more comforting and validating than that. #AutismAwareness 8\8

Social media accounts (like mine) started spreading awareness of the less obvious signs... And general exposure to what autism *actually* is became much more mainstream. \7

In the meantime, the DSM was updated to include less obvious traits and the general understanding of autism/adhd evolved. Practitioners started identifying autism/adhd in children who have less obvious traits, and parents started seeing those same traits in themselves... \6

As we got older, many (possibly most) of us got jobs, got married, had kids, sustained friendships... basically lived outwardly "normal" lives... all the while struggling every single day to manage our daily challenges. \5

We weren't always successful, but most of us managed to do this well enough. (On the outside, not usually on the inside) We struggled silently as we did everything we could to not become a target—many of us were bullied, so this was a matter of self-preservation. \4
