The most dire tipping point that exists for America (and for democracies broadly) is when the political parties that exist care more about their own continued existence than they do the united good of the nation state. In America’s case it feels like the two battling political organisms are now fighting their eternal battle in a way that is rapidly killing the host.
Mirroring this, I’ve noticed that many of my peers seem to have a *much* stronger connection to their blue or red affiliations than they do America. I fear this is way more dangerous than it appears.
It feels like this is a byproduct of being too far from fighting together as one unit for survival / prosperity for too long. The eye that used to focus on external competition has turned inward, and we are no longer a team.
I fear that America will lose unless we find away to realign to put the good of the nation above the actions of either political party. America isn’t perfect but it’s by far the best place one earth, and I don’t think many people realize just how much we lose if we allow our system to crumble.
if I was a male #bbcpresenter who happened to have holiday booked from tomorrow, i’d def be cancelling it right now and asking if I could come in to work.
Err… did Putin just slip up and call it a ‘war’? Or is that translator ad lib? bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-64… via @BBCNews
Sunak is showing true colours tonight. Easy to win people over when you’re giving away free money in tough times (furlough scheme), but he’s undoing it all by shouting over two reasonable women to make mute points. #BBCOurNextPM
Good for @jacindaardern Just a shame @skynews (and others) didn’t follow her lead and leave his name out of this story, and so actually gave him more notoriety in response to her trying to give him less.
New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern says she will never mention the Christchurch terror suspect by name to deny him notoriety.

Imagine scoring 17 own goals in your only first class game, goosing the referee then soiling yourself in the penalty box. Now imagine getting a regular slot on Match of the Day to share your expertise. This is the footballing equivalent of David Davis’s relationship with the BBC.
@ContactKingston I know you’re monitoring the situation, but traffic prob on Richmond Road / Cowleaze Road hasn’t improved one iota. All you need to do is change phasing on lights by Canbury Park Road to allow more time for Ric’ Rd. Prob solved.
@ContactKingston Or even better - put someone on the junction with a stop/go sign. There is hardly any traffic on A308, so they could move the traffic from Richmond Road at a stroke.
If you can't run a spell checker, I don't much fancy your chances of running a country. #unpresidented

#EURefResults Hey baby boomers. Have you finally run out of ways to fuck up the future of young people yet?
Pls donate a few £ or $ to @Wikipedia. It makes our world better by giving everyone knowledge & nothing else like it donate.wikimedia.org/?utm_me…
Maybe if you lot had left some £ in the country's coffers it might have been a nicer ride for the last term xitter.cf/georgeaylett/status/59…
Under David Cameron we have seen the highest fall in living standards since Queen Victoria sat on the throne.

Sometimes the BBC earn their license fee 10 times over. Just sometimes. xitter.cf/ukip/status/5938760007…
So instead of @Nigel_Farage's #AskTheLeader interview after #bbcqt, the BBC decided that "Car Share" with Peter Kay was more important.
You just know that if you had @palomafaith at your New Years party she'd DEFINITELY break something. #joolshollandhootenanny
@BarclaysStock actually worked out your site is not down, but it is giving a runtime error when opening in chrome for Mac. ok in safari.
