While in LV, MLB sources told me Oakland wouldn’t be a potential spot in the future because Manfred was so unhappy with the Thao administration. Today he says he doesn’t think he’ll have to worry about working with her again 😵 and has no issues with any government officials.

the current form of protest is woefully incapable of meeting our moment. protest is a material threat (eg labor strike) or it is optics. if it is optics, the narrative is everything. but leaderless emergent protest leaves room for anyone to create a visceral spectacle that destroys the narrative upper hand. these images will be used to justify (with sufficient public support) further encroachment on civil liberties. I wish I had a solution. I don’t. I just know this isn’t working.
