The architecture is in place. The security program is running. What’s left is the harder work of raising the bar as we add dollars, stablecoins, and more rails to the @OnrampBitcoin platform. Engineering Lead and Security Engineer. Both remote US. See the link below to apply.
Come build the money platform you’d want your own family to use. We are hiring an Engineering Lead and a Security Engineer at @OnrampBitcoin. We’re bringing dollars, stablecoins, bitcoin, and gold into one financial experience for individuals and institutions. We started with custody because making money easier to use means very little if you can’t trust how it’s held. There’s a lot of meaningful engineering left to do, and these two people will help decide how we do it! The Engineering Lead will own architecture across our APIs, custody, and money movement, while staying close to the code. The Security Engineer will build and run the security program, test our defenses, lead incident response, and write fixes alongside the team. We’re putting AI to work throughout that process. Agents building, testing, reviewing, and challenging our own systems. You’ll have the budget to experiment and the responsibility to understand what ships. You’ll also have a direct line to me and leadership. We want people who’ll challenge a decision, explain a better approach, and have the room to build it. The lead is full-time. Security starts on contract, with a path to full-time and equity once the fit is right on both sides. Remote in the U.S. Come build with us. Details below.

Onramp had product-market fit before the company was even incorporated. Founded in November 2022, Bitcoin was around $16,000, FTX was two weeks dead, and it was the best possible time to start the company because we weren't starting from a theory. Silicon Valley calls it an earned secret. Multi-Institution Custody came from onboarding thousands of clients and billions of dollars the old way, and watching where every model hit its ceiling. That lesson was true at $16K. It was true at $120K. It's true at $63K, and it will be even more true at $250K, $500K, and $1 million. This past week, sophisticated clients asked us two questions worth answering in public. First: "Are you guys out there red-teaming the hardware stuff?" The honest answer is we never had to be. We never shipped devices. We never leaned on exotic scripting languages. We use battle-tested, open-source multisig held at the largest regulated custodians in the world, so while others spent the week hunting for holes in their products, we spent it onboarding and serving clients. That is by design. We explained that plastic devices weren't a long-term solution for wealth planning; we were sadly correct. Second: "How does your insurance actually work?" There's a lot of misinformation out there, so today we published the full breakdown. A few things from it worth knowing even if you never open the report: There is a difference between what somebody wants and what they'll pay for. Ask a bitcoiner what they want from custody and it's a dream list: 3-of-5 across Singapore, Switzerland, and the UAE, a named policy covering every sat. Ask what they'll pay and the list gets short, fast. That gap is where real custody businesses are built, and companies that last close it with engineering instead of a premium. Bitcoin insurance has been a barbell of bad options. On one end, omnibus custodians holding tens of billions against coverage that's a rounding error. The pool is the exposure and the policy is marketing. On the other end, bespoke named policies at 0.4% to 0.8% of assets per year: a $5 million vault can run $40,000 a year in premiums, with a 10 to 25% deductible you eat yourself. And ranked honestly, insurance shouldn't crack the top five of what actually protects bitcoin. Key generation. Key distribution. Who can move assets. On-chain verifiability. Continuity for your family. When a custody pitch leads with the policy instead of the architecture, ask why the risks being insured still exist in the model at all. So we took the other path: remove the risk by architecture, and insure only the tail that remains. When we brought MIC to Lloyd's of London, underwriters had never seen a multi-redundancy custody model. There was no category. They built one, and before quoting a single term, they examined the architecture itself. The world's most established insurance market only underwrites what it considers low-risk. Better design earns better rates. That examination says more than any policy ever could. The result: a $100M facility through a Lloyd's syndicate, no deductible, included with every account at no cost, and claims that examine our controls rather than your key handling. Want a policy with your own name on it? Available at pre-agreed rates through our regulated broker, no keyholder requirement. Most people, shown all three options, take the included one, because the architecture already did the work. We didn't build this company on vibes about what bitcoiners might want. We built it on a decade of knowing what regular humans need, because eventually the regular humans become the bitcoiners. Four years of operation. Zero security incidents. We're not building a bolt-on custody product. We're building the standard for financial services, for today, tomorrow, and your family's generations. Anyone can verify our custody architecture on-chain. The people and processes behind it were never something you could inspect from the outside. That changes today. Advantage Partners, an independent CPA firm, has issued Onramp's SOC 2 Type I report: their professional opinion that the controls behind Multi-Institution Custody are suitably designed. Three independent institutions hold vault keys, and no single party can move client bitcoin. That part you could always check yourself. Now there's an outside opinion on everything around it.

the people who choose to work with us are often the most technically capable bitcoiners i talk to. years of self-custody. they know exactly what they're doing. they partner with us anyway, and it's usually for one reason: they're honest with themselves about their own limitations, and about whether their family could actually recover the assets without them. there's a stigma in this industry that if you don't hold your own keys, you're beneath everyone who does. i understand where it came from. but it stopped matching reality a while ago. self-custody is great and it matters and people should do it. but managing your own keys when bitcoin was $1,000 is a very different exercise than doing it when a meaningful share of your net worth sits there. people get older. they have families. they get sick. they want to travel and not think about it. at some point it becomes a practical question, not an ideological one. trading a little sovereignty for a lot of practicality isn't weakness. so let's stop treating it as such.

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer at @OnrampBitcoin . This has been one of the biggest weeks in our company's history. The demand we've been building toward for years is getting pulled forward, across custodian networks, enterprises, family offices, and everyday holders onboarding to multi-institution custody. The world is waking up to a simple truth: bitcoin ownership needs institutional-grade security without single points of failure. We pioneered multi-institution custody to solve exactly that. Now we're scaling it. What you'd be walking into: → High agency and AI Native → Early engineering seat with real influence on architecture → Full stack: TypeScript, Next.js, Postgres/MongoDB, Vercel/GCP → Security-first engineering where the stakes are real → Fully remote, high-agency team that ships fast If you want your code to secure generational wealth, this is your. future home. DM me or email [email protected] with your resume + a 3–5 min video on why you're the one. RTs appreciated. The right person is probably one repost away. 🧡

We've run more bitcoin consultations this past week than any stretch in company history. The silver lining: not one caller is scared of bitcoin. They're scared of being the single point of failure for their family's financial future. And these aren't newcomers. They're the hardcore. Dice-rolled entropy. Multisig. Guys with three hardware devices from three generations. One spent eight hours moving funds during the scare. They did everything right and still felt the ground move. Almost every call lands on the same sentence sooner or later: "My family couldn't recover this if something happened to me." People have carried that fear quietly for years. The culture shamed them out of saying it. Last week gave everyone permission. So here's who we are: TradFi wants to centralize the money. The others want everyone alone on an island. Nobody built the middle. @OnrampBitcoin pioneered the middle. MIC. Secured by three. Controlled by you. No single point of failure anywhere in the system, including you. The believers aren't leaving Bitcoin; they are just upgrading how they hold it. If that 2 am fear is yours too, that's exactly what a consultation is for: onrampbitcoin.com/consult

Nathan didn't lose anything last week. He moved anyway, because "probably fine" stopped being good enough for his family's wealth. Onboarded in minutes. Three institutions, one key each, no single company able to touch it, Lloyd's behind it. $0 to open. If you're rethinking your setup, don't do it alone. Your true safe harbor from the storm: app.onrampbitcoin.com/signup
Hundreds of signups since Thursday, and the calls haven't stopped. Almost nobody calling us this week lost money. They call because they did everything right, and then realized their setup only works if they never travel, never die, and never forget where they put something. This week made them look at a setup they built years ago and realize it no longer fits the life they have now. Kids, borders, a spouse who'd have no idea what to do. Dice rolls don't fix that. Another vendor doesn't fix that. They call because we are their family's safe harbor today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. Accounts are $0 to open. Onboard in minutes.

Onramp was built for days like this because they have happened before and will happen again. FTX showed why one company should never control your bitcoin. Today shows why one device, one vendor, or one person shouldn't be able to lose it either. Bitcoin isn't broken. The custody architecture around it is. Multi-Institution Custody means multiple independent institutions have to validate before bitcoin can move. No single counterparty can act alone. Not even Onramp. Nothing starts unless you initiate it. If you are looking for safe harbor from the storm, open an Onramp Finance or MIC account and onboard in minutes. Always $0 to start. Protect what you've built: app.onrampbitcoin.com/signup

On a road trip and glanced at X, went to back seat, and just migrated my family’s savings off the Q into multi-institution custody. I’m a bitcoiner and our team is fully of bitcoiners, I personally love sovereignty more than most, because of that we have always been proponent of the barbell approach. We even put out a whole report here: onrampbitcoin.com/research/t… With all of that, I had to think critically about where this heads over the coming days and weeks as sophisticated attackers throw more GPUs at this, and I don’t want to be on the other side of that for now in self custody. I had a passphrase, but tbh, never thought once that I needed to worry about additional entropy when using a coldcard and did not feel my current passphrase was good enough. Once the dust settles, I’ll take a small portion out to always have that metaphorical “bar of gold” I can touch and feel, along with move with quickly if needed. But with the crazy stuff coming out of these AI labs, I can confidently say currently @OnrampBitcoin MIC model is the safest solution for my family’s wealth Learn more about the latest with this exploit below
The Bitcoin subreddit is absolutely heartbreaking right now. So many people have been destroyed. I recommend having a look because it gives you a different perspective compared to X. Really sad.
