How many hours did your staff spend on volunteer recruiting conversations this week? If you don't know, that's the problem.
What gets scheduled gets done. The question isn't whether to carve out time for recruiting — it's whether senior leadership will hold that standard across every ministry, or leave each leader to figure it out alone.
I could have sworn Popes were Catholic. Guess not.
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience
The single most powerful volunteer recruiting tool in your church isn't a signup form or a stage announcement. It's your senior pastor's next sermon.
If volunteer recruiting is only a department-level conversation, it will only produce department-level results. Whole-church health requires a whole-church voice.
Growing churches retain ~21% of first-time guests. Non-growing: 9%.
The goal? 33%.
That gap is where ministry growth lives.
The reason your coaching layer isn't working isn't that you chose the wrong coaches. It's that nobody told them what great coaching actually looks like.
When coaches shift from managing to developing, two things happen: volunteer retention climbs, and your next layer of leaders starts to surface. Coaches don't just retain people — they multiply them.
