One surprising results: even torchGWAS was optimized for many (e.g., 2M) phenotypes, it can be extremely efficient for single phenotype GWAS, thanks to optimized IO pipelining.

Introducing torchGWAS that runs 512 GWAS under a minute! Although my team had quite some other papers out in the last year that deserve promoting, I like this one because it shows real progress modernizing the hardware for GWAS. academic.oup.com/bioinformat…

Integrating RNA-seq, metabolomics & proteomics, @GeraldineMaier mapped how exercise rewires metabolism across tissues: • Glycolysis • Fat oxidation • Ketone use • BCAA metabolism @WuTsaiAlliance cell.com/cell/abstract/S0092…

Using AI to write for you - start to finish - is really just you robbing yourself of one of life’s greatest joys: to think through a problem and figure out what you think about it, and in the process becoming passionate enough to take on the new challenge of solving it.

Netanyahu called me a liar when settlers detained me, along with a NYT photographer, in Zanuta this past July. Now, he is calling a Washington Post photographer a liar. Netanyahu, you are the liar with the blood of Palestinian children on your hands.
The Prime Minister’s Office: The facts surrounding the confrontation near Abu Falah, during which Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine was allegedly assaulted, remain unclear and are under investigation. Israel unequivocally condemns violence against anyone—Jews, Arabs, Christians or journalists. Those responsible will be held accountable. But serious questions remain. Reports indicate some 200 Arabs and far-left activists confronted approximately 40 Israeli youths. Footage shows masked individuals on both sides hurling objects, amid reports of fireworks fired at Jewish youths. Other footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual. The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence. We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. The facts must determine the conclusions. Not the headlines.

Netanyahu’s father was born in Poland. His grandfather was born in Russia. Their family name is originally Mileikowsky.
Netanyahu tells Mark Levin that Europeans—not Jews—are colonizers: "We are not on stolen land, this is our historical homeland!" "We're the indigenous people here—we're not the Dutch in Indonesia!" "We're Jews from Judea!" "We're not trying to drive anyone out!" he adds.

Abdul El-Sayed on Iran: War in Iran. Everybody could have told you this is a dumb idea. There was really only one person in the whole world who's had a 40-year project to get us to fight this war. He's a prime minister of another government. And he finally found the dumbass who was willing to do it.

I am absolutely convinced that if Israel fired a nuclear missile at Tehran, around ninety percent of the British political and media establishment would explain in grave tones why it was necessary, if regretable, and that those who object are vile extremists and antisemites.

Anthropic engineers just released the best 1-hour course on building agents with Opus 5.5: "Opus 5.5 is the best model for building agentic systems." 00:00 - intro to Managed Agents 07:45 - Opus 5.5 brain + architecture 23:40 - skills, loops, memory graphs 54:00 - agent dreaming and orchestration Prompts → Agents → Loops → Graphs most people will stop after the architecture chapter and call it an agent the last twenty minutes are where the agents start running each other same model, same tokens, completely different week watch it today the full article is below, save it while it is still early ↓
REA is the most dangerous repo on GitHub right now It gives your AI agent a real disassembler, so it reads any app down to the binary Every claim comes back with the address behind it I broke down the exact 8 steps:

a testament to the original SpliceAI too! it looks like more task-specific models in biology are going to have a lot of staying power with performance like this

This work is not getting enough attention. These are pretty massive leaps in modeling splicing. Very excited about this. Need to do a deep read but the performance on diverse splicing related tasks looks really good.
#SpliceAI2 splice variant effect benchmarks. Considerably improved performance in 9 evaluations spanning cryptic splicing, sQTLs, MPRAs, population genetics, plasma proteins, and rare disease. 🧬✂️🧵
