Loyal and competent staffers do not magically appear on day one of a Presidential administration. They must be identified, vetted, and trained. Nick Solheim of @americanmoment joins @BreccanFThies on the first episode of The Long March to discuss how the Right should build a personnel pipeline that brings new talent to D.C. "I heard Muslim teenagers in Bordeaux scream 'allahu akbar' at a family fair, I saw hordes of Muslims gawk at Catholic Churches; in Paris, they own the city." The Long March host @BreccanFThies was in Paris this week amidst the riots.
My wife and I left Paris this morning, just before riots were set to begin across the country. The original plan was to get an uber to the airport later in the day, and enjoy the last morning in the city before flying home. We were warned by multiple people to call an early uber, because riots would make it impossible to get to the airport. We weren’t sure what to expect, as France is always “protesting” or rioting — but I’m not sure we expected what we’re seeing right now. The most jarring thing about it is that all the normal French people know. Every normal citizen is aware that their city will burn, and they brush it off. Their government obviously knows as well, but they do nothing to protect their historic buildings and places, or their culture. There did not seem to be any protective fencing or riot preparation whatsoever. Everyone in France knew it would burn and they let it happen. It’s particularly appalling because if you take tours of historic places in France, whether it’s Notre Dame or a 12th century chateau that makes wine, you will hear the same thing: “It’s remarkable that we were able to recover anything from the French Revolution, but so much was lost.” Everything sacred was burned or melted down for scrap because they didn’t care about western civilization, either. Now, the enemy is different, but the goal is the same. I heard Muslim teenagers in Bordeaux scream “allahu akbar” at a family fair, I saw hordes of Muslims gawk at Catholic Churches; in Paris, they own the city. France, and the West, will fall unless that enemy is removed.

Honored to make my radio debut on @Hillsdale1017 discuss George “Town Destroyer” Washington and how the Founders were pretty cool, actually. Give it a listen! 🇺🇸

There is no politics without the exercise of power. Even the strictest libertarians want to exercise power. The question is whether power is being used for good and just ends.
All governance is an exercise in power.

In case you missed it, last week I had the pleasure of appearing on @NewGuardPress’s new podcast, “The Long March” with @BreccanFThies to talk about my approach to interviewing, hiring, and training the next generation of DC staff. There are some great bits (I think, anyway) about how to get an internship and some conversation about a realistic approach to power, but I also shared some personal stories about why this mission is important to me. Thanks again to Breccan and the team for the invitation. Wonder why our newest program is called the Chesterton Media Fellowship? NGP Founder @bradleyhaley27 explains in @FDRLST: “Our mission was inspired, in part, by G.K. Chesterton’s famous line: ‘The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.’ New Guard Press was envisioned as an outlet where young conservatives could articulate a positive vision for the future of American culture, based on our shared loves instead of hatred for the left’s ideas.” thefederalist.com/2026/03/25…

“Sports aside, the public sexual objectification of the human person is never a positive cultural phenomenon no matter what the circumstances. While the frustration expressed online misidentifies the primary problem with this advertisement, the irate intuition of these athletes is justified. The recent defense of the ad by right wing figures, however, is not.” Anna Stirton of @newguardpress responds to the Sydney Sweeney controversy. collegiatenetwork.com/respec…

“We have a moral duty to resist evil. If our goal is to conserve American values, we can't get comfortable with wickedness. We can't tolerate the grotesque, even if it's ‘just for Halloween!’ because it has real-life consequences.” Read Chesterton Fellow @BrookeBrandtjen on the effects of a horror-obsessed culture:
Halloween might not be bad for our culture– After all, who doesn’t love trick or treating and watching ‘It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’– but the growing obsession with horror might be a bad thing. Read my latest @Evie_Magazine 👻 eviemagazine.com/post/americ…

“It’s not enough to be aligned with the President just on the policy area you are working on, you have to be aligned across the board.” @NickSolheim gives a shout out to @SergioGor for revamping PPO in the second Trump administration.

I believe in an outcomes-based conservative movement. Conservatives should want their community and their nation to be better. @newguardpress
