Important for active MDs advocating against crumbling healthcare system (in AB and other places). Please, don’t disregard hospital acquired infections. Yes, it’s only one of the problems. But that’s the one you have the agency to fix. 👇
"ICU-acquired infection was the primary driver of increased ICU LOS and hospital costs."

Something big has been happening this week, and with all the news happening, you probably didn’t hear about it. MPs from every federal party except the Liberals and Conservatives have banded together — and they’re sounding the alarm about Carney's destructive policies:

🧵🇨🇦💉@GovCanHealth's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) has released their fall 2026 guidance on COVID-19 vaccines today. They've made a couple of changes to the section on "Choice of COVID-19 vaccine", neither of which I think are very appropriate or helpful at facilitating vaccine access. First, they now conveniently leave out that THEIR OWN PREFERENTIAL RECOMMENDATION, in place until 2024, was one of the most significant drivers of public preference skewing toward mRNA. It's important to keep that context included, because we're still dealing with the fallout from that recommendation today. Fall 2026 Novavax/Nuvaxovid availability remains uncertain in some provinces because of the perception from public health officials that uptake was too low the last time it was available, without them understanding much of the context behind that relatively low uptake. Second, they've now added a statement that limiting access to only one vaccine platform especially impacts "those who had a previous serious adverse reaction to one type of vaccine platform." At first glance, that may seem well-intentioned to support our most vulnerable, but it also advances the idea that people with severe adverse reactions may be the only group who would prefer Novavax/Nuvaxovid - which couldn’t be further from the truth, and once again, reinforces the idea that uptake may be low. In reality, MOST PEOPLE would trend toward a Nuvaxovid preference if given all of the facts, because it has superior effectiveness and less routine side effects. BREAKING: Trump RAGES after major A-List celebrities REFUSE to attend his trashy, embarrassing UFC cage fight! Donald Trump’s attempts to stock the stands at his ridiculous UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn are falling flat, with virtually everybody who is anybody turning down their invitations in yet another humiliating rejection to the president’s birthday spectacle. Big names like Adam Sandler, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jared Leto, and Mario Lopez all received personal invitations from the MAGA minions, but have no plans to darken the door of the tacky spectacle cum-80th birthday-party on June 14. This on top of the musical acts who have fled the Trump-linked 250th anniversary events after they learned it was going to feature an insipid MAGA pep rally vibe. But this one is more personal for Diaper Don. The event combines his favorite sport and all the birthday attention on him, and his flunkies have gone all out, defiling the White House with a full fighting ring, seating for 4,500 people, and even a giant temporary arch called “The Claw.” Too bad the people Trump wants to impress most are having none of turning the People’s House into Trump’s personal fight club and birthday party. UFC head and Trump crony Dana White claims Tom Brady, Jason Statham, and Guy Ritchie have yet to respond to their invites, but there’s no question the growing list of celebrities shunning the event is becoming impossible for Trump to ignore. Recent polling found that 51 percent of Americans disapprove of holding a cage fight on the White House lawn as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations. It makes obvious, as Bill Maher pointed out this weekend, that our president is a redneck. Yes, gentle readers, this is the United States of America with Donald Trump in charge. Let’s be thankful that this whole trashy spectacle is flopping. It shows that we’ve all had just about enough of Trump.

So let me get this straight. Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom. Jared and Ivanka are building a private island paradise on Albanian protected land. Don Jr married the daughter of Epstein’s banker, and a startup his fund backs just got a record $620M Pentagon loan. Eric is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5B in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted. And I know: “But what about your paintings, Hunter?” Please.

"If you stop testing it will go away" I do find it weird that climate activists fell for this when it was done with Covid.
I'm afraid that this is why the US administration wants to shut down ocean observations: they don't want the people to know what is happening in our oceans, as it does not fit their ideology and the interests of their fossil fuel industry funders. edition.cnn.com/2026/06/03/c…

There are plenty of world-class L0ngC0vid experts far smarter than I am. But I bring something they don’t: I’m a CV surgeon and endovascular specialist. I’ve had hearts, lungs, arteries, and other organs literally in my hands. I’ve seen their insides, healthy and ravaged, with my own eyes. That gives me one brutal, irreplaceable edge: I can take the science and translate it straight into the living, bleeding reality of human anatomy. And what I see coming is ugly. You, personally and as a society, are in for one hell of a shock. Read this 🧵👇 If you keep minimising SARSCoV2, refuse to protect yourselves, and keep swallowing the lies of pseudo-experts chasing money or psychiatrists salivating over a fresh FND goldmine… you’re walking straight into disaster. Tell every last one of them to f.ck off! Then follow the hard, unfolding science.👇 Your organs don’t care about opinions. They only care about damage. And the damage is already stacking up, be it momentarily maybe still clinically "silent"! #AvoidSars2 #AvoidReinfections

To build a better health care system, we need to build better hospitals and clinics. We’re expanding and modernising our healthcare infrastructure across the country — so you can get the care you need, when you need it.

Masking on planes is one of the easiest lifestyle changes we could collectively make to halt or slow future pandemics. Vulnerable ppl have to fly for various reasons and have no choice but to be trapped in a tin can w you. You should be home if sick, masked if flying.
