Just, for a moment, consider that Man City were found innocent by the panel & the Premier League then appealed - would Micah be saying hang on, we're not innocent yet, there's an appeal.....???
Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards disagree over what Manchester City’s guilty verdict means while the club’s appeal remains unresolved. Jamie Carragher: “They’re guilty. They’ve been found guilty. What’s the point of a court?” Micah Richards: “But there’s an appeal. I don’t want to cut you off, but then we have to be adults about it.” Carragher’s position is that City must accept the punishment if they lose their appeal. Richards, meanwhile, insists the appeal process matters. The distinction is between the commission’s findings and the final outcome of the appeal. The verdict has been delivered, but the legal process is not necessarily over. For Carragher, a verdict must carry weight. For Richards, the appeal must be allowed to run its course. ft. @Carra23 , @MicahRichards via CBS Sports Golazo (YT)

FFP is almost 20 years old. PSR and its equivalents have been in force for over 13 years. isn’t it weird however that it suddenly became an existential threat to the league in the past three weeks.
🚨 Joe Cole on FFP 🗣"I don't think it's fair, now that the drawbridge has been pulled up, that no other fans can have the dream of a Man City or a Chelsea. The people in charge of the rules are protecting the established order." 👏👏 #ManCity #PL

That guy who will accept any guilty verdict and "not be your friend anymore" sure is staying close to those former friends
Pep arrived to the stadium directly from airport ten minutes ago He is sharing time with VIPs at the Chairman's suite And will go after the game (maybe go down to the changing room after to say hello to both managers and City players) He wanted to make sure to be part of today

What I witnessed yesterday made me seriously consider walking away from the club and the game I have loved for most of my life. Many, many supporters across the country will feel exactly the same as this farce continues. The @premierleague stands on the precipice. It must stop pretending this is just another day at the office and take urgent action now before it loses all credibility and the game we love is damaged beyond any hope of repair.
How long is the stench of the “sham” going to corrode the meaning, worth, and very essence of the Premier League? Listening to commentary about Manchester City’s players matching the defiance of their ownership and triumphing in adversity. Listening to fans chorusing the names of the men running the club, wearing masks or displaying banners of their faces and jibing: “We’re Man City, we’ll cheat when we want.” Victory being framed as “a lovely moment,” a show of togetherness as though some grave injustice has been imposed on City, rather than their hierarchy being found by an independent commission to have orchestrated financial doping on an industrial scale. Their opponents and the rest of us wondering if any of this actually matters now and how much of it ever did? There can be no business as usual pretence. We need a full stop to the absurdity.

The narrative went from ‘we didn’t cheat’ to ‘we cheated and we don’t care’ really quickly, didn’t it?

Football is in crisis here. Genuinely think people will fuck it off if City aren’t punished accordingly, and soon. The limbo only makes it worse. I’ve always resisted conspiracy theories about officials, mainly because if that’s what’s going on, what are we all doing here? But why make appointments that feed the conspiracy? Chris Kavanagh, from Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, for this game? When trust is already on the floor, when people are already questioning the integrity of the competition, surely you look at that appointment and think: why invite it?

The collective psychosis among the professional class of pundits and ex players here is becoming truly bizarre. There is no scenario in which Guardiola isn’t tainted by this. To suggest anything else is delusion.

"The decisive ally to both of the clubs was the man whose job should have committed him to complete neutrality: UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino. The Football Leaks documents show just how unconscionably the top functionary sided with the newly wealthy clubs, both of which didn't just violate the Financial Fair Play rules. They held them in contempt. During the FFP proceedings, Infantino met with club bosses from Paris and Manchester on several occasions for secret talks, even supplying them with confidential materials. He proposed compromises that he was unauthorized to propose. In short: He betrayed his own organization." spiegel.de/international/wor…

This has always been it. And whenever anyone says "why did the panel take so long?" all of this is a key reason why. These would rather burst the ball than let anyone else play with it.
Etihad threatening to sue. UAE reportedly intimating that UK investment could be pulled. A Prime Minister couching any criticisism. If this sorry saga doesn't convince you that state ownership of football clubs should never be allowed, nothing ever will.

Ok mate. But did you, like Mancini, also have a second and secret illicit contract when with City? Thanks in advance for your prompt response.
I want every single @ManCity fan to know I am here; more than ever. I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all 🩵

Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.

Pep Guardiola inherited a team with De Bruyne, David Silva, Kompany, Sterling and Aguero, and still spent €500m in his first two seasons. For context, in his first 18 months, he spent as much as Arsene Wenger did in 21 years. That’s what £900m of artificial revenue allowed.

Once the fallout from the Man City case is over, will there be an investigation into their finances from 2018 to today? Surely we're not supposed to believe they suddenly saw the light and started being impeccably honest in 2018 are we?
