Tottenham have retained their first-option matching rights on Harry Kane, despite the England captain signing a new Bayern contract That agreement remains in place between Spurs and Bayern, and is separate to Kane’s new deal. It would only be applicable should Bayern agree to sell Kane at any point in the future and the striker wanted to return to Tottenham Bayern have secured Kane to a new contract that runs until 2029 and is believed to be worth in the region of £400,000-a-week (around €25m per year), which is said to be the highest guaranteed base salary in European football Kane’s full focus is now on Bayern, who he wants to win the Champions League with. But Tottenham’s hopes of Kane one day returning “home” have not been completely eliminated by the new contract [@Matt_Law_DT]

Kane on whether he's currently having the best time of his life: "Yeah, I'd say it is. This period I'm in right now, and even going into last season, some of the best moments I've had on the pitch and also off the pitch. Like I said, these last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy, but in a good way - you know me as a person. I'm not someone who craves the attention, so it's been a lot, to be honest. It's a lot emotionally and mentally, and obviously in between that we've had important games, so I've tried to just focus on that. But yeah, right now I'm in a really, really good place, happy place. I'm not the type of person who gets too high in these moments because I know there's always lows around the corner, always moments you're going to have to deal with. So I try and stay level-headed as always. But ultimately, yeah, it's been an important year and a bit, and especially these last few weeks have been incredible. So, right now I'm in a happy place, and long may it continue."
