Violence is never a solution. The killing of Charlie Kirk is tragic, not because I endorsed his politics, but because democracy depends on voices clashing through words, not weapons. Political discord is America’s heartbeat, but when disagreement turns to bloodshed, the whole body of democracy weakens. This is not a Democratic problem or a Republican problem…it’s a problem for all of us. Blaming Democrats will only make the divide deeper and the problem worse. We must stand for respect, nonviolence, and the hard work of debate over the easy path of hate.

To the People following the #KarenRead Trial who have wives, daughters, and girlfriends: MA State Trooper Proctor's remarks about Ms. Read were utterly unacceptable! Most companies would immediately terminate an employee for using derogatory language such as the C word, calling someone "retarded," or making jokes about her illnesses. It is important for us to address this issue, especially considering the fact that Ms. Read was dating a police officer and was a college professor. It's troubling to learn that such behavior is tolerated within the culture of our state police. We must consider how they perceive other working women, including fellow female officers and staff. I encourage you to call or email the Massachusetts Governor's office @MassGov , who is a woman, to express your concerns. I plan to do the same! @MassStatePolice
